Calgary Shooting - Update

The Edmonton Journal is reporting that there was a fatal shooting outside a Calgary nightclub 2:30 AM this morning. Tragically, the victim was Calgary Stampeders defensive back Mylan Hicks.

Update: The Canadian Press is reporting that Nelson Tony Lugela, who is 19, has been charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning. Sounds like this senseless shooting was simply over a fight in a bar.

Lindsey Stirling performs in Vancouver September 28th

On a more posative note, I forgot to mention the Vancouver Province reported that Lindsey Stirling will be performing in Vancouver at the Orpheum on September 28th. This will be well worth seeing. I've posted links to some of her videos before. She is very talented and epitomizes using music in a posative way to inspire others for good. Her new album is called Brave Enough.

Shine a light through an open door.

Fatal shooting in Maple Ridge - Update

CBC is confirming a Scan BC report that there was a fatal drive by shooting in Maple Ridge 2:30 AM today. The Scan BC report claims the person was shot in the head.

Update: CTV News is reporting that "The identity of the victim has not yet been released by police, but neighbours identified him as Jonathen Patko." They also claim he was acquitted of murder in 2002. "A court judgment shows that Patko and a younger man were accused of entering Pickton trial witness Gina Houston's house in Surrey armed with baseball bats to beat another man to death. One witness didn't show up to court." Scaring witnesses out of testifying in the Pickton trial on whose behalf? Willy Pickton? Not likely. Now he's dead. That's gratitude for ya.

Warlocks & Syndicate members arrested in Fort McMurray

The Toronto Sun is reporting that "Five members of rival outlaw motorcycle gangs operating in Fort McMurray have been arrested. Police have released few other details about the execution of four search warrants Wednesday with a press conference scheduled for Monday. The arrests come as a result of a joint investigation by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams and RCMP Wood Buffalo in relation to an on-going conflict between the Fort McMurray chapters of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club and the Syndicate, a Hells Angels support club."

Update: They meant "a" rival MC since only Warlocks were arrested. Breaking news is they seized guns lawfully obtained and stored.

A Good Way Out

BC Living is reporting that the Pacific Theatre in Vancouver is running an interesting play about a biker trying to leave the life called A Good Way Out from September 23rd to October 15th.

"Tough and uncompromising, this World Premiere follows Joey, a hardworking mechanic who just happens to be the front man for a biker gang. He joined “the family” for protection when he was young, but now he has a family of his own and his priorities have changed. You can’t leave family behind, though, whether they are by blood or by bond, and a few bad decisions turn this dangerous world against him and those he loves."

"It isn’t just the gang activity that has been dominating the Lower Mainland news cycle for years that inspired Norrish to pen A Good Way Out. The story is, in large part, inspired by a person close to her who was involved in gang life. Despite its personal beginnings, however, she sees the story as extending to more universal questions, 'This play is about what pushes us as human beings,' says Norrish on the script, 'How far we will go to protect the ones we love.'”

Update: I saw the matinee the other day. It is very well done. It's very dark and realistic.

Victims of Calgary double shooting in car identified

CBC is reporting that "Police were called to 22 Redstone Manor northeast about 8 p.m. MT on Tuesday where officers found Tran dead in the front passenger seat of the car in the attached garage. Lung, who was in the driver's seat, was rushed with a large police escort to Foothills Medical Centre in life-threatening condition. She was later pronounced dead. Her five-year-old son, who was sitting in the back of the car, was not injured in the shooting.

Police said Lung had a long history of associating with criminal networks and that the attack was likely targeted. Two other family members, including the woman's other child, were inside the house at the time of the shooting."

Lawyer shot in Toronto

The Canadian Press is reporting that "A 51-year-old man accused of shooting a Toronto lawyer has been formally charged with 15 counts, including attempted murder. Toronto police say Grayson Delong - who was charged in his hospital bed Thursday - also faces a charge of disguise with intent and 13 firearms-related counts." The shooting took place last Tuesday afternoon outside the lawyer's office. After shooting the lawyer in the legs, the suspect was shot by a plainclothes police officer doing surveillance of the area.

George Christie's new book has been released

George Christie's new book Exile on Front Street hit the shelves September 20th. The New York Daily news is reporting that "Former Hells Angels boss Sonny Barger was a fraud who beat his wife and 14-year-old stepdaughter, ex-gangster George Christie writes in 'Exile on Front Street' tell-all." If he wasn't out in bad before he sure is now. Bad to the bone.

"When does a club become a cult, when they fear their members leaving and feel compelled to destroy them with intimidation and false statements." George Christie

Note: I don't think Sonny Barger is a snitch because he called an ambulance for his ex after he beat her and her daughter up. I do think he is a pimp and baby killer for supporting his pal Otis Garret and for honouring him as a proud member of the filthy few fellowship after the fact. The FBI paid his wife to testify against him for domestic assault. She never testified against anyone for club business. The gun in the car was hers. She owned it legally.

Spike in traffic from China

I'm not sure what this massive spike in traffic coming in from China is all about but Greetings. I've written a fair bit about organ harvesting in China which has been referred to as their secret genocide. Here in the free world we oppose political prisoners. People have a right to say what they want and believe what they want. The freedom of religion and the freedom of speech are essential elements in any free republic. China is not free.

I went out for dinner with a few friends recently and the son of an old friend recently came back from a trip to China. I mentioned the Falun Gong being political prisoners there. He responded by saying the Falun Gong are crazy. They cut themselves, set themselves on fire and organize protests. I have a friend in China who knows. Oh really I said. That is not true. They don't set themselves on fire. Those are the Tibetan monks that do that in protest. They don't cut themselves either. They are peaceful people who like to meditate. They do like to organize protests. Here in Canada that isn't a crime it's a civic duty.

I know several here in Vancouver. They are wonderful people. He responded with well I dont know if that's just propaganda but that is what I heard. Of course it's propaganda I said. The Communists have a long history of censorship and propaganda. Just look at Stalin's death camps. In East Berlin they turned the machine guns inwards so no one could leave.

China doesn't have enough organ donors to meet its own needs. They certainly don't have enough volunteer donors for the huge organ export business they are involved in. They execute political prisoners to order. That is heinous and needs to be addressed. Several documentaries have been produced on it and a recent movie made here in Vancouver called the Bleeding Edge. This is a important issue that needs to be addressed. Ask Anastasia Lin what she thinks.
