CTV is reporting that "A total of eight people were arrested on Wednesday when Surrey RCMP and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 13700-block of Grosvenor Road, according to a news release by Mounties on Friday."
“'The search warrant was issued under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, stemming from an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the neighbourhood,' reads the release.
Drugs that were seized from the property include 1.4 kg of suspected methamphetamine, 184 grams of suspected fentanyl and 110 grams of suspected cocaine." Nice work. Things are improving.
I can't help but note that the improvement comes only after people are getting rid of Surrey RCMP and replacing them with Surrey Police Services.....but yeah, good job.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it takes but it's not just Surrey. The compromised CFSEU is improving too.
DeleteAgreed. I'm going to posit a theory here. I wonder if the Police are getting so fed up with "the powers that be" that someone (if not more than one) high enough ranking to push this is tired of taking orders from fools, and has decided to fight back in the only way they have, namely "Doing your job even though they don't want you to" and in fact have been making it hard to do so far a long time. Vancouver can't be known around the world for its huge open air hard drug market over a 25 year period if the folks at the top didn't want it to continue that way. "Harm reduction". Free needles. Methadone scams that run for years. Shortage of meaningful arrests.
DeleteI think, and hope, that cops in general are getting tired of not doing what sellout politicians tell them not to do, and have decided to fight back and express their feelings on the matter by doing their jobs at a higher level.
Or it could be as simple as the wrong persons kid
dying of an overdose. I like the first story a bit better.
I think there was a change in local leadership. Someone who works for and answers to Manny Mann. Manny Mann is just a figurehead.
DeleteNot surprised with the new drug bust happening in good ol' whalley. Wondering when the next one in the same area is going to happen 🤘🏽
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm still waiting for them to bust Shakerz.
DeleteShakerz should be a huge embarrassment to the police. Maybe "the new management" will see it that way. RIP Leanne Yardley, R.N.
DeleteExactly.
DeleteAnyone know what happened to Leannes partner Kerry? He seems to have died a year after leanne.
DeleteMore competition to the Red and White targeted?
ReplyDeletePerhaps but I don't think they have that large of competition in Surrey.
DeleteCertainly not anymore. 7 airsoft toys seized? Everyone at one residence. Does not sound like 81 support.
DeleteAirsoft? LOL I missed that.
DeleteLoss my son in March , too many he was just another Indian but he was my Indian as they are finding out
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry for your loss. Everyone matters. Especially your own child.
DeleteAirsoft toys seized? LOL come on guys give your head a shake and quit making yourselves look bad
ReplyDeleteThat was probably a stunt. It's a justification for baning airsoft guns in Justin Trudeau's overreaching long gun amendment. As the other commenter pointed out, no one uses airsoft in the drug trade here. No one. It's a political stunt.
DeleteI thought replica's including airsoft were already prohibited?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. I just remember looking over some recent committee minutes where various members of the airsoft community were complaining about the amendment and rightly so. That makes this seizure suspicious. It has a political motivation behind it. A f*cking stupid one at that which has absolutely nothing to do with public safety. One could argue that people could use replica guns in armed robberies but that isn't a big problem here. Gang members shooting each other with real illegal guns that have never been registered is the problem we see.
