Elspeth was the first British woman to ride a motorcycle around the world. She wrote a book about it called Lone Rider and has a web site at elspethbeard.com Elspeth rode through India during the Sikh genocide and rode through Iran during the Iran Iraq war. It was a harrowing feat with no cell phones, no Internet and no GPS.
