New pipeline leak in Alberta spills 5 million litres

CBC is reporting that "One of the largest leaks in Alberta history has spilled about five million litres of emulsion from a Nexen Energy pipeline at the company's Long Lake oilsands facility south of Fort McMurray. The leak was discovered Wednesday afternoon."

CTV is reporting that "The spill has affected about 16,000 square metres along the pipeline route near Nexen's Long Lake operations."

This is what people are concerned about happening in British Columbia. Voters who express those concerns are not terrorists. They have every right to express those concerns and every right to a fair trial when the government removes that right illegally.

  1. Yes and a year old pipeline at that. If this is the quality we can expect from those Communist Chinese companies which bought out Canadian oil companies lets hope we have a new government which puts a stop to that.

At this time they don't know how it happened, but perhaps the pipeline was built with the same steel in Communist China which they build the Johnson St. bridge with.

let hear it again for products from China, letting Communist Chinese government companies buy Canadian companies, and that 31 yr trade deal deceiving Stephen signed us into. if this is what we can expect, then gee we will be wall to wall tar at the end of 31 yrs.

we don't need any more pipelines. this is what we get. They can't even get those pipelines to last a yr and their "technical" expertise isn't good enough to take notice a pipeline had sprung a leak. it would be real interesting to see what would happen if a forest fire blew across a pipeline.
