Brockton Point and our vain regretful tears
Today I hiked up to Brockton Point on Seymour. Just a leisurely reflection. Previously I quoted that old United Church hymn
I feel the winds of God today. It states that "It is the wind of God that dries my vain regretful tears." Now vain in this case doesn't mean arrogant. It means pointless like a vain attempt to do something. Sorrow is a part of repentance but regret is pointless.
Life is indeed "like an hourglass glued to the table. No one can find the rewind button, boys.
So cradle your head in your hands and breathe, just breathe."
"For what's done is done. What's won is won
and what's lost is lost and gone forever." All we can do is keep moving forward.
