New York cop charged with selling guns to OMGs

Record Online is reporting that "A police officer with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has been charged with illegally manufacturing and selling dozens of guns and tipping off a drug suspect about an investigation, state police said Friday. Police said they learned about the activities of Gregg Marinelli, 38, of Plattekill, during the cocaine- and fentanyl-trafficking investigation dubbed “Operation: Bread, White and Blues” that resulted in more than two dozen arrests in February, although Marinelli was not charged in that case."

"Prosecutors say Marinelli, a DEP sergeant and team leader of an agency Emergency Service Unit, manufactured dozens of handguns and assault rifles, including a fully automatic assault rifle, in his home and sold them “to individuals who are legally barred from possessing such weapons.” Those customers included members of self-professed outlaw motorcycle clubs, and Marinelli sometimes delivered the guns using his marked DEP police car, prosecutors said."

He must have been moonlighting on the side for the Agency.

Harley Liberty is reporting that "A veteran first responder is charged with peddling deadly drugs. He’s one of 29 people arrested on drug and conspiracy charges in early morning raids Tuesday, New York State Police said. Investigators say a suburban firehouse was at the center of the illegal activity. A home to lifesaving first responders allegedly became the center of a drug operation that peddled deadly Fentanyl." The Fentanyl pills, known on the street as “blueberries,” were falsely sold as painkillers, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported."

"Agents recovered more than $200,000, 25 handguns, an assault rifle and other rifles, 2.5 pounds of cocaine, 1,300 Fentanyl pills, ten vehicles and two motorcycles in the raids. Paul Smith, 48, who works as a lieutenant in the City of Middletown Fire Department faces charges of operating as a major trafficker, conspiracy and possessing and selling controlled substances."

Statter 911 is reporting that "It isn’t a stretch to say that there’s a decent likelihood that the two men at the center of a drug ring in New York responded to assist overdose victims who used illegal drugs the me are accused of distributing. Paul G. Smith is a career lieutenant with the Middletown Fire Department and Robert Dunham Jr. is a volunteer with Mechanicstown Fire Company. Both departments are located in Orange County. Law enforcement officials claim Smith and Dunham got drugs and then distributed them through two self-described outlaw motorcycle clubs in the county, the Burnt Pistons and Chingalings."

Chuck Zito was a member of the Ching-A-Ling MC then became a member of the Hells Angels MC, later becoming one of the founders of the Hells Angels New York Nomads chapter.

Taste of Coexistence

CBC is reporting that "Two best friends are pairing up to offer a Middle Eastern feast every week at the University of British Columbia but the unique lunch is more than just falafel and hummus — it's about tearing down walls. The "Taste of Coexistence" lunches are hosted by two chefs: one is Jewish and from Israel, the other is Muslim and of Palestinian descent. Both run restaurants in Vancouver, where their friendship has flourished despite what they were taught growing up."

"For the rest of the semester every Wednesday from 12 to 1 pm, Hillel House will serve a delicious $8 Middle Eastern style buffet catered alternately by restaurants Chickpea and Aleph."

"Bregman was pleased to see children of the Palestinian and Isreali restauranteurs playing around, calling that the face of coexistence. 'We may not be able to affect what's going to happen thousands and thousands of miles away, but we can affect how we deal with one another here,' said Bregman." This is the Vancouver that I was born and raised in.

This is the Vancouver where a Jewish Rabbi was invited to speak at a Muslim Mosque and blew a rams horns to wake the community up in support of religious freedom. Je me souviens.

Terry Sawchuk film Goalie debuts March 1st 2019

Goalie, a new movie about the life of Terry Sawchuk debuts March 1st in Vancouver and in Toronto. This starts off back in the day when goalies didn't wear face masks. Ya gotta respect that. Gerry Cheevers claimed that his mask spared him from over 150 medical stitches over his career. Terry Sawchuk didn't wear one until 1959.

Now Toronto is reporting that "Adriana Maggs’s film about the NHL star who died at 40 is a devastating look at one man’s dedication to a game that broke him. Goalie is a biopic about Terry Sawchuk, a kid from Winnipeg who played for four of the Original Six teams, held the all-time NHL record for the most wins, and died after a drunken fight in 1970. He was 40 years old, and a wreck. Adriana Maggs’s movie shows us how he got there."

The Hamilton Spectator is reporting that "In tracing the triumphant but ultimately tragic life of goalie great Terry Sawchuk, screenwriter-director Adriana Maggs had plenty of clippings and statistics to help her depict his stellar on-ice record. Harder to parse was the inner turmoil of the taciturn Winnipegger, whose remarkable run with the National Hockey League included a career record of 103 regular-season shutouts but also left him physically and emotionally shattered."

"Sawchuk's off-ice exploits were infamously punctuated by bouts of rage, depression and heavy drinking, and Maggs says she wanted to make sure 'Goalie' captured his personal struggles with unflinching honesty. For that, she turned to the poems of her father, Randall Maggs, whose 2007 book "Night Work: The Sawchuk Poems" portrayed the hockey hero in very human terms."

This is a Canadian made movie that dives into the dark side of the story. It is epic.

Mark O’Brien and Georgina Reilly's interview on Breakfast Television.

Update: OK I've seen the movie now and I can truthfully say it is very well done. I'm not really a hockey guy myself but I totally respect the rugged courage it took to play that position back then and the movie portrays the human side of the tragedy very tastefully. Think about it, a boxer takes a beating in the ring from someone wearing gloves just like in the UFC. Getting hit in the face with a puck is a lot worse then getting hit in the face with a bare fist. The raw courage he had to take that kind of a beating over a prolonged period was amazing.

Toronto Star: Goalie unmasks the dark side of NHL legend Terry Sawchuk

National Post: Terry Sawchuk film 'Goalie' traces triumphs and tragedy of hockey great

Puckstruck: lived, breathed, died a goalie: adriana maggs on putting terry sawchuk on film

The Seattle Times: The haunting brilliance of goalie Terry Sawchuk — who helped christen what’s now KeyArena — comes to the big screen

Judge refuses to strip Mongols of its trademark

NBC is reporting that "A federal judge in California has declined to approve a jury’s decision to strip the Mongols motorcycle club of its trademarked logo. U.S. District Judge David O. Carter, who oversaw the racketeering trial late last year when the Mongol Nation was convicted, cited constitutional protections against intrusions on free speech and excessive fines, in his decision Thursday. "The First Amendment and Eighth Amendment permanently prohibit the Government's request to forfeit the rights associated with the collective symbols," Carter wrote in the decision."

This is the right decision. The FBI's obsession to seize the Mongols patch was excessive and punitive. The flag has been unfurled as has the free republic it represents. Aging Rebel's take.

Man charged with murdering a Hells Angels associate in Montreal

The Montreal Gazette is reporting that "Charges were filed Tuesday in connection with three murders carried out in the St-Léonard borough in December. In one case, Giovanni Presta Jr., 33, of Terrebonne is accused of first-degree murder in the death of Sébastien Beauchamp, 44, a former member of a Hells Angels support club who was gunned down on Dec. 20 at a gas station in the borough." Terrebonne is right beside Laval where the 17 year old girl recently went missing.

Sébastien Beauchamp was a member of the Rockers as opposed to the Rock Machine. The Rockers are an old puppet club that have sold drugs for the Hells Angels since the days of Stéphane Sirois. The Rockers is the group Greg Wooley was with. Giovanni Presta is accused of assisting hit man Frederick Silva in Sébastien Beauchamp's murder.

Frédérick Silva has been charged in the murder of "Daniel Somoza-Gildea, a Concordia student who died on May 24, 2017, after he was shot when an argument that started inside the Cabaret les Amazones spilled out into the strip bar’s parking lot. Hours after he was arrested on Saturday, Silva was also charged at the Montreal courthouse with the first-degree murder of Alessandro Vinci, 31, the sales manager of a Laval car dealership who was gunned down on Oct. 11."

"Also on Tuesday, Fodil-Abderhamane Lakehal, 21, was charged with manslaughter in the Dec. 24 deaths of Davis Arbour, 38, and Marc-Hilary Dasilma, 41. Arbour is reported to have been a member of the Devil’s Ghosts and Dasilma was described in court documents as an influential member of a Montreal street gang." The Devil's Ghosts are affiliated with the Hells Angels.

The Journal of Montreal is reporting that "In Quebec, several hired assassins preferred to collaborate with the police in confessing their crimes, while incriminating the sponsors and accomplices of their murders, in order to save their lives. This is particularly the case of Gallant, who also sentenced 11 people, former Angel Hells Angel Trudeau (involved in 43 murders), Donald Lavoie (27 murders for the Dubois clan) and the mafia killer Real Simard (five murders)."

Bruno Lefebvre, a member of the Rockers was shot in Montreal January 2013.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper at the Oscars

I'm going to comment on Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's stunning performance at the Oscars which everyone is talking about. The performance of the song Shallow was flawless but that's not what everyone's talking about. Everyone is saying they're sleeping together. I would just like to clarify that you all are completely missing the point. Both of them.

After 2:00 in the video Lady Gaga nails is. It doesn't matter what color her hair is. It doesn't matter whether or not she is wearing any make up. (In the movie she was brunette without makeup and very exposed then was a redhead towards the end) It doesn't even matter what crazy outfit, hat or mask she is wearing to get someone to finally listen to her. Close your eyes and listen to her sing that line. She nailed it. She showed her magnificent ability to sing. That's where ya'll are supposed to cheer and applaud. If you listen carefully this is where a blind man sees.

Bradley Cooper's ex wife has taken some heat for a comment she made about it. A comedian posted on Twitter Is there any chance these two aren't f*cking? And she replied Ha. Now fair enough that was somewhat ambiguous. She could have been denying the accusation for all we know. Nevertheless in her Instagram rant she made a false statement. She said her book wasn't about her ex and didn't even mention him. It was about her gluten intolerance. That is simply untrue. Her book did mention her ex and did trash him an a very childish and petty manner.

My concern wasn't what Jennifer Esposito said on twitter. My concern is what she said in her "memoir" about him. “I should have noticed the red flags from the beginning—actually, they were more like an entire marching band squad of red flags — but I ignored them because, honestly, I didn’t think the relationship was really going to go anywhere,” she wrote. “He was funny, smart, cocky, arrogant, and a master manipulator. I didn’t necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while.”

That's not a marriage, that's fling. Saying that in a book after the fact is petty and cheap. She's trying to trash him and make herself look good but she did the opposite. She looks very self indulged. It was a good thing he didn't have any kids with her.

In contrast, Bradley Cooper's current girlfriend, Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, the mother of his child, is a wonderful person comfortable in her own skin. She hugged Lady Gaga after the performance and sat between them at the venue.

Now I'm going to talk about leaving the shallow. The mob is fickle and Hollywood is shallow. As always, we should aspire to something higher. The movie A Star is Born is no Mr & Mrs Smith. It has profound depth. As I said before it will rip your heart out.

Bradley Cooper directed and costarred in the movie. He was one of the writers. He didn't portray himself as some studly action hero in the script. He portrayed himself as an alcoholic struggling with that disease. The movie wasn't about a steamy affair. It was about a woman who was married to an alcoholic and the challenges they faced.

In the movie Ally is on stage accepting a Grammy, while her husband Jack stagers up on stage drunk and pisses himself in front of everyone. It was mortifying. He had to stay drunk so he didn't have to deal with the embarrassment. When he got sober dealing with the embarrassment was too much to bear. This movie is far from the shallow. It has profound depth. It forces us to think about how addiction adversely affects all of us. It is a sobering thought indeed. Well done.

Perhaps Lady Gaga is feeling a little like Alanis Morissette right now. Perhaps not. As Bradley Cooper explained, that's how love songs are supposed to make you feel. The indisputable fact is that her acting debut was a flawless victory. Let her shine and give credit where credit is due.

Lady Gaga sets the record straight

The Washington Post is reporting that "Grab a tissue and say it with us: Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are not in love. The singer, toting her Oscar in a bag (seriously) appeared on Wednesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where she addressed the hubbub: No, she and Cooper are not running off into the sunset together. They are two actors who were acting while singing a love song from a movie at an awards ceremony celebrating actors at the top of their craft (emphasis mostly ours). Here’s how Gaga put it:

“First of all, like, social media quite frankly is the toilet of the Internet and what it has done to pop culture is just abysmal,” she told Kimmel. “And yes, people saw love and, guess what, that’s we wanted you to see. This is a love song, ‘Shallow.’ The movie, ‘A Star Is Born’ is a love story.” “Are you having an affair with Tony Bennett?” Kimmel joked. Gaga gave a coy glance before breaking into a laugh. “No!” she said. “No, I’m an artist and I guess we did a good job. Fooled ya!”

DK's interview played at Jamie Bacon's trial

Kim Bolan is reporting that a video tape of Dennis Karbovanec explaining to the police what happened when he was shot at was played at Jamie Bacon's murder trial. It sure has opened a can of worms. Literally. Jamie Bacon is on trial for ordering the murder of his own associate in the Surrey Six. The two star witnesses are the shooter Jamie hired and the sleazebag sent to lure DK into a trap. This is all one big cease pool of parasites exposed so it is.

"Karbovanec told police that he figured out that Johnston was likely not involved because he was also left behind after the others fled and also seemed surprised by what happened. After the shooting, Johnston called out to Karbovanec as he was hiding in the bushes. I say: ‘Matt, what the f–k happened? He goes: ‘CD tried to shoot you.’ I go: ‘What the f—, man?’”

Exactly. WTF. "In another clip, Karbovanec said AB called him after the attempted murder. “My cell phone starts to ring at home. I answer it. I go: ‘You f—ing piece of sh–. You missed, you f—ing goof.’ I hang up the phone,” Karbovanec recounted to police. “He phones back again. I pick up the phone and go: ‘How dare you, you betraying piece of sh–. I’m your friend and you tried to kill me.’ I’m like: ‘F— you man, I’m alive and you missed.’ I hang up the phone again.”

"AB testified Monday that the parts of Karbovanec’s interview played in court were shown to him by police after he was arrested for the shooting in August 2010." So there ya have it. AB is the one that lured DK to a dead end street and CD is the one Jamie hired to shoot DK. Allegedly. DK was a co accused in the Surrey Six. DK shot Chris Mohan who was an innocent bystander. As soon as they start busting caps DK's way he goes running to the PoPo like a f*cking Teletubbie just like the Softside did. That's the red and white's MO here in BC.

Likewise, AB, the one that lured his friend into a dead end road to get shot flips as soon as the police show him the video of DK's interview. So he and the shooter both cut a deal to avoid having to go to jail. There is nothing noble in that. It's great that they are finally going after the person who ordered the murder but I want to be very clear, there are no good guys here. These are all two bit sleazebags out for themselves and no one else.

The only hero in all of this is Anton. He wasn't involved and he testified because he knew it was the right thing to do. DK didn't cooperate with the police because he had a moral epiphany. He cooperated with the police because they were busting caps in his direction.

Kim Bolan also reported that after the botched hit on DK Jamie Bacon got AB to write DK a note telling DK why AB wanted him dead and Jonathon Preppy little dead a*ss b*ch Bacon delivered the note to DK to throw suspicion off of Jamie. AYFKM? A cesspool of sleazebags alright.

They lure one of their friends aside and try to shoot him then deny it was them after they missed. That is the MO of these preppy little b*tches that I object to. DK was shocked. What are you doing? I'm your friend?! The same thing you did to Corey Lal and his guys. You betrayed them and they betrayed you. It's a dog eat dog world. I don't mean dog as in Dawg. I mean dog as in dog sh*t because that's all they are. There is no L&R or honor in any of them. None whatsoever.

German Hells Angels charged with drug trafficking and Prostitution in Spain

TBM is reporting that 46 members of the Mallorca chapter of the Hells Angels are being brought to trial on charges of drug trafficking and prostitution. Frank Hanebuth leads the Hells Angels of Hanover in Germany. They moved to Mallorca on a Island off the coast of Spain and took over the drug trafficking and prostitution there. They were arrested in 2013 but it appears their case is finally going to trial. There is nothing noble in any of that. Just sayn.

Kamloops Drug War Denial

There has been a rash of shootings, murders and drug related violence in Kamloops recently and the media is eager to run off on any conceivable tangent. Rex Gill was one of two people shot and killed in separate incidents back in January. His mother is claiming his was a case of mistaken identity and the compromised gang task force who are spinning for the Hells Angels as we speak are starting to run with that theory. No offence but that is absolutely ridiculous.

Rex's mother says Rex was a good guy. I believe that is true. Rex's mother says Rex wasn't involved in the drug trade. I believe that is true. Rex's mother says Rex's murder was a case of mistaken identity. I do not believe that is true. Not for one minute.

It is no coincidence that Rex was involved in the motorcycle community in Penticton and Kamloops. The Hells Angels have a great influence over that community. Rex's "friend" was quick to tell the media that Rex was a great guy who was very "opinionated" and saw himself as a "prophet" in the Motorcycle community. All of that is undoubtedly true.

Although Rex was a motorcycle enthusiast I think he was against drug trafficking and that is why they killed him. I think he was betrayed by the Big Red Bowel movement just like Geoff Meisner and Britney Irving were. In 2017 Konaam Shirzad was murdered by Hells Angel ASSociates after he kicked the Wolf Pack out of Kamloops. That is their MO.

In 2009 Ken Yaretz and Damien Marks were murdered in Kamloops. Ken had ties to the Independent Soldiers who sell drugs for the HAs. A jury found Roy Frederick Fraser guilty of first degree murder for the death of Damien Marks, and guilty of second degree murder for the death of Kenneth Yaretz. Yaretz was involved with a marijuana crop with Fraser. Neighbors claimed they had been under the impression the property was owned by the Hells Angels.

In 2011 Archie LePretre was killed in Kamloops. That murder was tied to Redd Alert who sell drugs for the Hells Angels. Right after that the Hells Angels showed up in support of a local puppet club in Kamloops. It was a motorcycle club.

In 2011 a Hells Angels ASSociate named John Darrel Krokos of Kamloops was sentenced to more than 11 years in a California jail for operating an international cocaine smuggling ring from Mexico. The Sun reported that Krokos was the Vallarta-based cocaine broker for B.C. Hells Angels in Mexico. All of the drug related violence in Kamloops is tied to the Hells Angels.

Laval police looking for missing teenager

CBC is reporting that "Laval police are asking for the public's help to find 17-year-old Kelly Martin Nolet. The teenager left home to go to work on Thursday, but never showed up. Her family is worried she may be in bad company. Police believe she could be in Laval, Montreal or even outside the province." The same thing happened last year confirming my first suspicion. A teenage girl in bad company in Laval. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to do the math.

Kelly has blue eyes and her hair is now dyed red. She has a tattoo of an AK-47 assault rifle on her right forearm. She may turn up in Toronto. Be mindful of her.

Ma fille précieuse, écoute les mots de mon coeur, s'il vous plaît. If a man asks you to have sex with another man, he does not love you and he never will. Don't walk away from him, run. Run away from him will all the strength of your youth while you still can. He will lie to you. He will flatter you. He will tell you that he understands you. He will even buy gifts for you at first but mark my word once he has his flaxen cords securely wrapped around your neck, things will change and it will become a nightmare you will wish never happened.

When I first became a parent I thought that I would be different than other parents. I had done a lot of volunteer work with youth on the streets. I thought for sure when my kids became teenagers they would be able to talk to me because I could relate to them. I soon learned what every other parent learns. Teenagers don't listen to their parents no matter who they are. It is easier for them to listen to someone outside the home.

Encore je vous en prie ma fille précieuse, écoute les mots de mon coeur. There is no such thing as a perfect parent or a perfect child. If we have a parent who loves us and cares about us, then we are very lucky because many people out there don't. If a parent lets their child do whatever they want whenever they want then that parent really doesn't love that child. If a parent really loves a child they will try to protect the child from harm. Actions speak louder than words. Time is on the side of truth. Ma fille précieuse fais attention, le vrai amour ne ment pas. Paix.

BTW you can always cover up that AK tatt with something nice... something a little more feminine... something a little more classy. It's never too late to cover up bad ink so it's not. The thorn defends the rose and only harms those who wish to steal the blossom. Peace.

Update: Missing Laval teen found. Thank God.

Missing Surrey woman found dead

The Surrey Now Leader is reporting that "A Surrey woman reported missing last month has been found dead. Rajwinder Bains, 38, was reported missing to the Surrey RCMP on January 23 by her family. 'During the course of the investigation, Ms. Bains’ body was discovered and her death is now being investigated as a homicide,' states a news release, issued by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Thursday morning." Real men protect women they don't kill them.

Avalanche Canada is urging people to carry essential rescue gear, including a transceiver, probe and shovel, and know how to use it.

A local snowshoer was killed by an avalanche in the back country on Seymour Monday.

Early morning shooting in Courtenay

CTV is reporting that "Police are on scene at a Courtenay apartment complex, where gunfire rang out early Thursday morning, and a man is believed to have been shot in the upper, inner thigh of his left leg. Kylee Cordocedo lives across from the Park Place Apartment on Fitzgerald Avenue. She tells CTV News her brother heard a gunshot at 6:30 a.m. He alerted her to the noise and she ran out of her home, and discovered a man on the ground outside the apartment complex, bleeding profusely." Neighbors are not surprised it happened.

Kamloops shooters charged

Tim Petruk is reporting that "Two alleged Kamloops gangsters were charged Wednesday with murder and attempted murder in connection with a deadly shooting last week in Brocklehurst - the latest in a string of violent incidents linked to a power vacuum at the top of the city’s drug trade. Gordie Wayne Braaten and Hugh Alexander McIntosh are each facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder after a shooting last Friday that killed 39-year-old Jason Glover and injured 50-year-old Kelly Callfas."

"As of noon Wednesday, Braaten and McIntosh remain at large."

Drug war rocks Kamloops because the Gang Task Force is useless.

Double stabbing outside Delta elementary school

CBC is reporting that "A woman and an off-duty police officer have been taken to hospital in "serious to critical" condition after they were stabbed in front of an elementary school in Delta, B.C. Wednesday afternoon. In a statement, Delta police said an altercation broke out between a man and a woman in front of Immaculate Conception Elementary School at about 3:05 p.m.

Police say an off-duty officer intervened and was stabbed in the scuffle, along with the woman. B.C. Emergency Health Services says two patients were taken to hospital in "serious to critical condition. Police have a suspect in custody but say the scene remains active. No children are believed to have been harmed, police said."

Outside an elementary school. You are a f*cking idiot.

Update: CBC is reporting that "49-year-old Manoj George of Delta, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon."

Michael Smyth is still peddling the ICBC Fraud

Harold Munro's cheap tabloid of corporate trash is reporting that "Attorney-General David Eby plans to make more than $1 billion of ICBC losses disappear this year." AYFKM? ICBC has been breaking even. The BC Liberals extracted a $1.3 billion dividend from ICBC to balance Christy Clark's fake fudgeit budget. If there was no dividend, there would be no deficit.

Everyone knows that. The fact that Michael Smyth and Harold Munro are still peddling the fraud goes way beyond a credibility meltdown. It crosses over into the realm of a criminal act. Back in the day, if a newspaper printed something false they would do their due diligence and print a retraction. Not now. Now when the cheap tabloid posts something false they reprint it on the front page hoping that if they repeat the same lie enough times someone out there will actually believe it. I sure as hell don't. This credibility meltdown is heartbreaking.

WTF are you doing? Prostituting your principles for pennies? Have you no self respect? Journalism used to be a noble career. This isn't journalism. This is defamation with malicious intent. Harold Munro's cheap tabloid of corporate trash is worthless.

Snowshoer found dead on Mount Seymour

The Canadian Press is reporting that "Searchers discovered the body of a missing snowshoer in avalanche debris on Vancouver's North Shore on Wednesday, two days after he was swept away. Peter Haigh of North Shore Search and Rescue says searchers made the discovery on Runner Peak, north of Mount Seymour. He says the BC Coroners Service will investigate the cause of death but the man appears to have suffered trauma when the avalanche hit. The mother of the 39-year-old Surrey, B.C., snowshoer has identified him as Remi Michalowski."

My condolences to the family. His companion was swept into some trees by the avalanche and was rescued Monday. I'm having a hard time visualizing the trail to Runner's Peak. They say it's in the saddle between 2nd and 3rd peak but I thought the trail to Mt Elsay was just before 1st peak. It's a summer trail. I've been to 3rd peak lots but I've never been to Runners Peak.

Spraying launches butterfly and bird genocide in Surrey

Harold Munro's cheap tabloid of corporate trash is pushing the butterfly and song bird genocide in Surrey by promoting the areal spraying for Gypsy moths. "Tessa Nendick, who lives at the Dogwood Campgrounds and RV Park that is within the area with her fiance and their two-month-old son, said as a new mom, she is concerned. 'I’m not crazy about certain things being sprayed,' she said. But, You have to ask yourself, Do the moths cause more problems than the pesticide?"

Well let's do the math. What kind of damage do gypsy moths do? They eat some leaves. Oh really? What kind of damage does the BTK spraying do? It kills all the butterflies, moths and caterpillars in that area which effects all the other living organisms that feed off of them: song birds, owls, bats you name it. They spray the pesticide and the songbird feeds it's baby a poisoned caterpillar and the baby song bird dies. Why do we waist our time doing butterfly releases when we then turn around and kill them all? Individual gypsy moth traps work fine.

Gypsy moths are not the problem pine beetles are. The pine beetles effect the forestry industry and increase the chance of forest fires. How do we solve the pine beetle problem? It's pretty easy. When we replant a forest after a clear cut or forest fire we plant cedar and fir trees instead of pine trees. Problem solved. All these toxic pesticides are bad for humans and destroy the ecosystem that humans are connected to.

Another double shooting in Kamloops

CBC is reporting that "Two people have been hospitalized after a reported shooting in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood of Kamloops, B.C. B.C. Emergency Health Services spokesperson Shannon Miller said paramedics received a call about a shooting just before 4 p.m. PT on Friday. According to Miller, paramedics transported one person in serious condition and one person in critical condition to hospital."

Kamloops this Week is reporting that "Police said on the weekend that, given the string of violent incidents in Kamloops in recent weeks — including the shooting deaths of two men in January, a kidnapping and robbery on Feb. 13 and the shooting of a man and woman on Feb. 15 — Ferrier’s reported disappearance had them concerned."

Earlier this month CFJC Today reported that 31 year old Blake Bernhard was arrested a few blocks away from the scene of yet another shooting, and is currently facing charges related to the breach of previous gun-related conditions.

Last month there were Two fatal shootings in Kamloops.
