Ontario Hells Angel shot in Quebec - Update

CTV is reporting that "A 41-year-old member of the Hells Angels is in serious but stable condition after being shot in the back while he was riding his motorcycle in Lachute. The man was riding in Bethany Rd. about 10:30 a.m. when multiple gun shots were heard, the Surete du Quebec confirms." CTV is reporting that the victim is a member of the Ontario Nomads Hells Angels.

Update: As a reader has pointed out the Montreal Gazette is reporting that a police source has confirmed the victim is Philippe Boudreau, the vice-president of the Ontario Nomads. This guy must be from Quebec. He's not some clown with shorts, sneakers and a full faced helmet. He's the real deal. Sh*ts gonna get real.

The Montreal Journal reported that Martin Bernatchez is the successor to Paul "Sasquatch" Porter at the head of the Ontario Hells Nomads chapter. Paul was RM but crossed over with other founding members when Mom Boucher went to prison.

The Root of the Conflict:

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to do the math and figure out a likely motive for the shooting and see the root of the new conflict. The Montreal Gazette is reporting that the Ontario Hells Angels are teaming up with the Rizzutos and are planning a comeback in Quebec after that massive police bust in SharQ. The thing is when Vito was in prison the Ontario Hells Angels teamed up with the Calabrians out of Hamilton who were at war with the Rizzutos. Now all of a sudden they've switched sides again. That's gotta upset their former business partners. Philippe Boudreau may well have been from Sudbury but the bottom rocker on the crest in the picture of him at the funeral said Hamilton. That was the base of the Calabrian resistance in Montreal.

I guess that's my primary beef. The Quebec Biker War had nothing to do with riding motorcycles. It was a war over a monopoly on the drug trade and when push comes to shove, L&R has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's all about making money. Allegiances change if there's more money to be made. For example, the Ontario Hells Angels haven't been known for their loyalty.

It was the Ontario Hells Angels that killed Bekim Zeneli from LHS because the Ontario Hells Angels wanted the Thompson drug trade and didn't want LHS and the Winnipeg HAs to get it. After they killed his friend they told Billy Bowden to suck it up or he'll be next. That's what started another drug war in Winnipeg and brought the Rock Machine back. Although it's clearly a new group since Vito helped broker a ceasefire between the HAs and the RM in Quebec. All the founding members of the Rock Machine joined the HAs.

Greg Wooley was supplying all the Crips in Montreal with drugs. That big meeting happened when he tried to convince the Bloods to sell drugs for the Hells Angels too. The leader of the Bo Gars as in Beau Garcons slapped him in the face and told him to f off. Shortly after that the HAs had him killed. Consequently there is no love for the HAs among the Bloods in Montreal. It will be interesting to see if the Bo Gars team up with the Calabrians and carve out their own territory independent of the HAs and Rizzutos. Time will tell. It always does.

  4. He's originally from sudbury and a candian Olympic boxer. Needless to say he's the real deal. Long record and is also a designated LTO (Long Term Offender) I wonder who would be stupid enough to try and kill him especially with his wife on the back. The cowards failed and now they better watch there backs. Shooting a guy in the back is a bitch move you want someone dead walk up to them and look them in the eyes when you do it.

    1. Interesting. The press did say he was an anglophone. He has a French name. Some of those other patch overs in Ontario are far less credible. Not the RM ones the ones riding around on sportsbikes and sneakers. It's hard for me to understand how he was shot in the back while riding with a passenger. The press release did say he was shot in the back. I think the reality is that none of us are bulletproof.

    2. Yeah they don't call Phil 'crazy' for nothing. I always used to see him ripping around sudz, use to be a bit thinner tho. Still shot a VP shits about to get real.

    3. Yes but I'm not sure how the status of being a Long Term Offender could possibly be a good thing. There's nothing noble about committing crime. Perhaps that had something to do with why he was shot.

  5. Oh I totally agree! Crime really doesn't pay, as a ex con myself I know this is very very true. He tried to clean up but I guess the lifestyle just pulled him back in, he just use to be a regular old sudbury HA, now he's VP of the nomads :/ it was a change in the wrong direction that's for sure. It's sad really, he had potential in boxing.

  6. He did a lot of bad things and harmed a lot of innocent (non-biker affiliated) people. He doesn't learn to distance himself from his I'm "Crazy" attitude. Maybe this is what got him shot. You can be a biker, but keep it as classy as possible...

  7. Spain would have been better off to have tried these men, sentenced them to jail and then sent them back to Canada to serve their sentences. Letting them off with a fine, makes one wonder about the Spanish "justice" system.

If people "get away" with crime, then the police and crow prosecuters need to do a better job. If they loose, they need to learn to appeal. It can't just be about the money, but then this is B.C. and the provincial government doesn't appear to have been that interested in "petty" crime, until now when its the run up to the election. With a government who does business with international corporations and people who have been convicted of crimes they just might not get the concept.

    1. They didn't send them back to Canada to serve their sentence. They collected a fine then set them free.

    2. Why should taxpayers in Canada be forced to foot the bill for these guys?

  8. Because they are Canadian citizens. there are treaties in place, that when a Canadian is found guilty in another country and sentenced to jail, they can be returned to Canada to serve their sentence. I was just suggesting that is something Spain could have done. the fact they didn't leaves me wondering about their "justice" system. I understand Spain has financial difficulties and wouldn't be interested in "hosting" Canadians as their "guests", but they could have tried them, sentenced them, and sent them back to Canada to serve their time. Would have worked for me. it send a message to Canadian criminals.

    1. That is a very good point. Spain could have easily sent them to Canada to serve their sentence but didn't. They made them pay a fine and set them free which does indeed say a lot about their justice system.

  9. Lets call it what it is the HA were able to BRIBE their way out of trouble. Fine my ass. I've got friends who live there and Spain is unbelievably corrupt, just like every place they ever colonized is to this day.

    1. Yes, for all practical purposes the "fine" was simply a legalized bribe.
