Listening to the sound of one hand clapping

Since my book is still a very long way away, I thought I'd throw a post out there to help set the stage and start the ball rolling in the direction of thought that my book will stimulate. When I was young the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was popular. In fact it was epic. I was drawn to it from my study of Zen in the martial arts and the fact that I also rode full seasons on a motorcycle. However, Zen isn't something we really talk about any more.

Clay Roueche did an epic job of describing the Chinese virtues in his Book of Indomitable Virtues. In his book Clay talks about walking with dignity, honoring tradition, loyalty, respect, integrity, responsibility, duty, obligation. The list goes on. This is the ghetto gospel and I support it completely. Compare that with Ricky Ciarniello's The Devil's Butler and there is no comparison. One is light, the other is darkness. One is honorable, the other is not. It's that simple.

Although Zen does share the Chinese virtues of Confucianism, Zen is more of a way of looking at things outside the box so to speak. It's kind of Yoda's outlook on the force. It starts off meditating on riddles called koans like what is the sound of one hand clapping or if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it fall, does it really make a sound when it falls? Obviously there is a left brain or analytical way of looking at these riddles as well as a right brain or intuitive way of looking at them. To examine this we need to define yin and yang.

The circle represents the universe without beginning or end. The light and dark represents the two forces in the universe. In the West we see things as linear and we tend to categorize them as opposites like light and darkness or good and evil. In the East they see them as compliments not opposites like male and female or speed and power.

The curved division between the two means there is no distinct line separating the two. One blends into the other. The light blends into darkness. Noise blends into the silence. The small dot on each side represents the fact that one does not exist without the other. For example, if you have never seen the light, you would never know you are sitting in darkness. Likewise if you have never heard noise or music, you would never know you are sitting in silence. In the martial arts it represents the fact that no matter how fast a technique is, it has some power. Likewise no matter how powerful a technique is it has some speed.

Now back to the riddles or koans. Logically the sound of one hand clapping is silence because it doesn't make any noise but does it? If it claps very fast it could create a rustling in the leaves from the wind. If it claps against another object it could make a sound. In fact if it claps against an Irish drum with a wooden stick, the sound of one hand clapping could in fact be a pleasant melody so it could. We just have to think outside the box.

One of the Zen riddles or koans talks about a baby goose that was raised in a bottle. As the goose grew up it became too big to fit out of the neck of the bottle. The riddle is then, how does the goose get out of the bottle without breaking the bottle or killing the goose? Think about it. The final answer is there the goose is out. Most of us are left scratching our heads saying wtf?

Here's the explanation. As we ponder the question we become the goose in the bottle. As we analyze the problem we begin to think outside the box or in this case bottle. As we look for a solution from the outside in, all of a sudden we realize we are out of the bottle. There the goose is out. This is a somewhat romantic metaphor since for all practical purposes the goose is still trapped in the bottle and unable to fly free. Yet I think Clay hit the nail on the head in his book. Clay states that although the media has tried to define him, his thoughts cannot be contained. He concludes that his body may be in prison but his spirit is running free. There! The goose is out.

Yet again, for all practical purposes, Clay is still in prison. Yet his art and his book has escaped for all the world to see. His thoughts can't be contained and his influence is spreading outside of his cell as well. He wrote his book while in solitary confinement. I find that inspiring. In our day and age when people get discouraged with the simplest of hardship, Clay found himself in a pit of darkness and decided to strike a match and light a candle. The light from that candle is radiating far beyond his prison cell. I have two of his prints on my dining room wall. They fill my home with light. His words and his art is shining bright for the world to see. In that sense the goose is out.

Now we just need to right the wrong of his unlawful arrest and transfer him back to Canada.

That would be the right thing to do.

Shooting in Abbotsford

Global is reporting that "Abbotsford Police say a man is recovering in hospital after a shooting Sunday night. Officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Birch Street after receiving a 9-1-1 hang-up call at around 6:15 p.m. BC Ambulance crews arrived to find a man in his early 20s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He remains in critical condition. An 18-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody."

Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wins Mexico's presidential election

The New York Times is reporting that "Riding a wave of populist anger fueled by rampant corruption and violence, the leftist Andrés Manuel López Obrador was elected president of Mexico on Sunday, in a landslide victory that upended the nation’s political establishment and handed him a sweeping mandate to reshape the country.

"The core promises of Mr. López Obrador’s campaign — to end corruption, reduce violence and address Mexico’s endemic poverty — were immensely popular with voters, but they come with questions he and his new government may struggle to answer."

The Canadian Press is reporting that "Lopez Obrador vows that profound change is coming, but says individual and property rights will be guaranteed. He promises respect for the autonomy of the Bank of Mexico and says his government will maintain financial and fiscal discipline. He also says contracts obtained under energy reforms will be scrutinized for any corruption or illegality, but there will be no confiscation or expropriation of property."

It will be interesting to see the state of the privatization and nationalization of Mexico's oil. Nationalizing the oil will fund the social programs alright. The whole point of Operation Fast and Furious, aside from making the CIA money through drug trafficking, was to discredit the existing president so they could elect a new president that would privatize Mexico's oil. Perhaps now that decision will be reversed. Mexico First Campaign Could End Welcome for U.S. Oil Giants.

Philippines mayor Antonio Halili shot dead by sniper during flag raising ceremony

CNN is reporting that "The controversial mayor of Philippines' Tanauan City has been killed by a sniper, the city's police chief said. Mayor Antonio Halili, who gained notoriety for parading people arrested on drug offenses, was killed with a single shot to the chest from an unknown assailant, Police Superintendent Renato Mercado told CNN."

GMA is reporting that "Malacañang on Monday condemned the killing of Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili, a man described by the Palace as a staunch ally of the government's war on drugs despite his reported links to the narcotics trade." This is why you need due process.

Canadian Rapper Smoke Dawg shot dead in Toronto

ET Canada is reporting that "Drake took to his Instagram Story to pay an emotional tribute to rapper Smoke Dawg after the Canadian was reportedly shot dead in Toronto on Saturday night." I didn't write about it at the time because I like Drake, but readers had sent me links to posts Drake has made supporting the Toronto Hells Angels. That was not wise. The Toronto violence is either for or against the HA monopoly on the drug trade just like with Greg Wooley in Montreal.

"Drake’s post came after officials confirmed that one of the three victims in the Toronto shooting, which happened outside Cube Nightclub at 8 p.m., had passed away. They’re yet to confirm the identity of the victim." City News reported that "Two men are dead and a woman is in serious condition after a shooting outside a downtown club on Saturday evening."

CBC is reportign that "Toronto rappers Smoke Dawg and Koba Prime have been identified as the victims killed in a triple shooting Saturday evening that also left a woman with serious injuries."

The Toronto Star is reporting that "Four people are seriously injured after a shooting near Kensington Market Sunday evening, paramedics say." They are also reporting that "A 15-year-old boy, shot on Saturday afternoon, dragged himself from a fundraising carnival at a church in the Jane/Finch area." Follow the rich white man. Greg Wooley still works for Mom Boucher.

It's hard to keep up with all the recent shootings in Toronto but I will state last August which saw a summer of mob violence in Toronto saw Hells Angels associate Mark Peretz shot. The summer before that Hells Angels associate Sukh Deo was shot in Toronto. Sukh was facing drug charges in Toronto just like the Alkhalils. Hells Angles associate Rabih (Robby) Alkhalil grew up in Surrey and has been charged with the murder of Johnnie Raposo June 2012 outside a cafe in Toronto’s Little Italy along with Hells Angels associate Dean Wiwchar.

Jas Rehal has got to go

All of a sudden the story becomes crystal clear. Jas Rehal is a d*ck. He's the Surrey First Bylaws henchman and he has got to go. He has mall cop syndrome and likes to harass people. He and his buddy Tom Gill were the ones harassing all the truckers in Surrey for parking overnight without paying a Surrey First tax. They were harassing small business.

Jas Rehal was the one responsible for creating havoc in Clayton Heights helping Surrey's Worst think up new ways to tax Surrey residents by threatening them with eviction notices in the middle of a housing crisis. Now Jas Rehal is killing baby Peacocks in Sullivan Heights.

The local residents complained about someone who intentionally cut down a tree with Peacocks nests in it. The majority of residents like the Peacocks. Once again Surrey First is steamrolling over the residents and has decided to trap the Peacocks during breeding season which will kill the babies. Hunters don't hunt during breeding season.

Jas Rehal was the clown who called the police when HE was trespassing on private property and was being abusive to an 80 year old land owner. The headlines read "Bylaw officer attacked as peacock tensions rise in Surrey." CBC declared "Police called as Surrey neighbourhood's peacock dispute escalates." Jas Rehal said "He's really shaken up. It's quite a traumatic experience being attacked on someone's property."

"Attacked on someone's property" by his own admission the bylaws officer was trespassing on private property. The bylaws officer got into an 80 year old mans face and started being abusive towards him. The 80 year old man pushed him back out of his face and the bylaw officer called the police and told the media it was a traumatic experience. A traumatic experience for a bully alright. The city has NO Right to Trespass on private property. The city has No Right to fine people for having a bird feeder or birdhouse on private property.

In response to this fraud, Roslyn Cassells and the Green Justice Party have launched Surrey Peacocks website a virtual library of what's really going on in Sullivan Heights. Hey ho, Jas Rehal and Surrey First have got to go. Tom Gill is part of the problem.

Blaze sentenced to 5 1/2 years for trafficking crystal meth

Kelowna Capital News is reporting that Donahugh McWhirter has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for drug and weapons offences. This way his coaccused Joey Verma won't have to write him letters from prison any more he can talk to him directly.

Unfortunately I don't think he'll do a day in prison because of his cooperation with the police as one of the unsavory witnesses that lied in court to the cops. We have no respect for fly sh*t.

Castanet has also run the story. Blaze is still facing charges for going to the wrong Mission home with a shotgun to collect a drug debt for the Red and White. Brain dead heat bag can't keep his big mouth shut. His family were in tears. So are Britney Irving's family. Think about them for once.

48 years old and still hasn't grown up yet. Now that is pathetic.

10-year-old boy shot in Maple Ridge

News 1130 is reporting that "A young boy is in the hospital after he was shot on Thursday afternoon. It happened at 3:40 p.m. on 110 Avenue near 240 Street. The boy was taken to the hospital, but there are no details on his condition. Mounties haven’t shared any details about what happened like how he was shot or where on his body he was hit, but are calling this an isolated incident.” Deaths of two in B.C. sailors was homicide.

Suspicious death in Vernon

Castanet is reporting that "Police are investigating what they're calling the “suspicious death” of a 29-year-old Vernon woman in West Kelowna Friday morning, and they say the risk to the general public is “unknown.” Just after 7 a.m., police responded to a report of a death on the 1300 block of Ponderosa Road, and found the body of a woman at a home in the area. Without providing details, police said the death “appeared suspicious.” Police have identified the victim as Jordyn Kitchener of Vernon. It's unusual for police to release the victim's name so soon after a death, but police say they are hoping it will help further the investigation."

The Translink Fraud has become a Criminal act

We were told that the Mayor's Gluton council was going to meet Thursday to vote on Translink's 10 year plan. That in itself is a crime. They are cramming the vote through before the October 20th civic election to satisfy the demands of SNC-Lavalin. Mayor Moonbeam and Botox Betty aren't running for reelection because their popularity has tanked. They have no right to vote on a ten year plan right before they leave. That is absurd.

Now we hear TransLink Mayors' Council approves 1.5 cent per litre gas tax to help pay for $7-billion transportation plan. That's on top of the ten cents a litre billion dollars a year regional gas tax above and beyond federal and provincial gas tax. On top of that, I go to fill up at the pump today and the oil monopoly just spiked the price of gas another 10 cents a litre before this new tax takes effect. The oil monopoly is screwing us. Oh but wait, that little B*tch just bought the pipeline with OUR money. That means that little B*tch is F*cking us over. Time for an election.

Translink needs to stop expanding until it starts breaking even. The Daily Hive is reporting that "SkyTrain for Surrey calls for cancellation of LRT plans due to cost to taxpayers." No kidding. The Director of South of Fraser Rapid Transit at TransLink is Stephan Mehr. Before that he worked over 22 years with SNC-Lavalin the dirtiest construction company on the planet that is still in court facing fraud and corruption charges in 2018. Time to throw them all in jail.

Laila Yuile comes out swinging

Laila is reporting that "The Peter German report into rampant money laundering is out and it does not fail to elicit reaction. A link to the full report can be found here: https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4723958"

Laila is calling for a public inquiry into the misconduct of Rich Coleman. You go girl.

Hell hath no fury yo. I told you if Rich Coleman came to Surrey we would slay him.

Is British Columbia the corruption capital of Canada?

Stop whitewashing the bloodstains from BC's Dirty Money Laundromat

"Everyone wants to ask Coleman about at least two occasions when he responded very oddly to reports of corruption, money-laundering and organized crime in casinos. The first was in January, 2009, when the Integrated Illegal Gambling Enforcement Team (IIGET) issued a report warning that the Hell’s Angels had successfully infiltrated the casino industry, and further, there was an extreme vulnerability to money-laundering in the facilities."

"If you thought such a report might spur an experienced former RCMP officer and solicitor-general into action, you’d be right. But instead of staffing up IIGET and providing resources to tackle corruption, internal memos uncovered by reporter Sean Holman in 2010 show that just weeks later in February, Coleman disbanded the unit altogether." Just like Wally Opal.

Then in 2011 Coleman slandered RCMP Inspector Barry Baxter for trying to address the problem.

We told ya so.
