Calgary drug bust seizes 40 kilos of cocaine

The Edmonton sun is reporting that "Twelve people were arrested following a year-long investigation, resulting in the seizure of 40 kilograms of cocaine, 11,597 fentanyl pills, 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 545 grams of heroin, 182 grams of MDMA, 450 grams of marihuana and 60 kilograms of Phenacetin." It was an ALERT bust of course. If ALERT was in BC Christy Clark and the BC Liberals would disband them for doing their job. The Calgary Sun has a video clip of the haul.

The bust was in Calgary. Previously we know that the main drug gangs in Calgary were the FOB and the FK. The FOB were supplied by the Hells Angels through the Independent Soldiers while the FK were supplied by the UN. It will be interesting to find out who were supplying these guys. Although most of the arrests were in Calgary Also arrested were Dennis Galen Ross, 27, and Todd Randall Chapman, 31, from Smithers, B.C. and James Joseph Bailey, 43, from Surrey, B.C. Fentanyl is what the Hells Angels were caught trafficking in Saskatchewan that has caused many fatalities. Last year 45 kilos of cocaine bound for Calgary was seized in Nevada.

  1. well that will be a crimp in the old profit margin.

This "war on drugs" thing, in my opinion is all backwards. We might want to "investigate" why people want to do these drugs to begin with. What is so wrong with our society that people need to escape from it and the reality they live in?

Some people simply have "addictive personalities". For those, would it not be simpler to provide them with what they need. It isn't like we are going to cure anyone. there aren't enough facilities in the country to deal with all the addicts.

The set up we have is currently working well for those who sell the product and those who "chase" those who sell the product. Of course it might help if those selling the product did a little quality control, its not like they aren't making any money.

    1. One of the reasons is because they give crack to the homeless for free then beat the life out of them for payment. If they weren't fronting the drugs there would be no drug debts.
