Vito Rizzuto dies suddenly at age 67

Well this is big news. Vito Rizzuto died suddenly in a Montreal hospital this morning, hours after complaining he felt ill at a party. The Star is reporting that "A spokesperson for the Quebec Coroner’s office Sacré-Coeur was quoted as saying there would be no autopsy because he died of natural medical causes. Antonio Nicaso, an internationally respected authority on organized crime, said he finds the decision not to carry out an autopsy bizarre."

"Nicaso noted that death by poison should not be ruled out so quickly, especially since one of Rizzuto’s enemies, Giuseppe (Ponytail) De Vito, was poisoned with cyanide in Donnaconna Penitentiary near Quebec City last summer." No doubt that creates a huge impression on the Rizzuto come back. Claiming he died of natural causes is ridiculous.

  1. The explanation of his death is perfectly reasonable. Even if he was poisoned, I don't see why it matters. A Catholic psychopath is dead. It's all good.

  3. Someone doesn't die of lung cancer all of a sudden at a party. That's kind of progressive. No doubt the police would want to make it sound like he died of natural causes to avoid tit for tat violence. However, with Vito out of the picture it looks like the HAs will be backing the Calabrians out of Hamilton again just like they did when Vito was in prison.

    1. He had lung cancer for a few years and ended up with pneumonia that filled his lungs with water and other complications that killed him.

  4. No autopsy? Really?? That is really astounding. I don't understand how his family is not demanding one.

Jeff up there obviously has no idea whats really going on. Come to Ottawa, and this is where you will find the real cooks....Parliament Hill is full of 'em.

  5. agent k, what effect do you think his death will have on the drug trade and organized crime in that area.

    1. None really. It just means the other guys who were wiping out the Rizzutos when Vito was in prison will be the suppliers and the HAs will work with them instead of the Rizzutos so no change really.

  6. your probally right about that agent k. I do hear that Vito might have appointed a seccessor, probally somebody from the younger generation. And I have a feeling like there might be some fireworks.

  7. It's quite possible he appointed a successor but it's not his son and whoever it is certainly doesn't carry the same weight he does. Yet if he did and the new successor wants to make a name for himself fireworks will indeed be the result.

  8. The name Rocco Sollecito has been mentioned several times in the last few days.. He's apparently one of Rizzutos most faithful disciples. Im sure that the revenge for the killing of his relatives must of been discussed before he died. But I guess we will have to wait and see what will happen.
