Another Brick in the Wall

I am somewhat concerned about the manufactured emergency Donald Trump's recent executive order on immigration has created banning American residents from returning home mid air. When we were kids they used to run commercials on TV about the Constitution and the process behind how a bill becomes a law. This whole executive order thing sounds very Star Wars to me. In our day we need to shun extremism. Recklessness is not prudent.

Time Magazine recently ran and article citing the hypocrisy of Donald Trumps executive order in relation to the poem inscribed on the Statue of Liberty which reads: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

America was built on immigration. Unless we are First Nations, we are all immigrants. The Pilgrims came here on the Mayflower to escape religious persecution. That is why the constitution was framed. To protect the freedom of religion. Religious discrimination is against the law. It violates the constitution and a free republic.

In our day the Constitution is under attack like never before. I do not support Hillary Clinton at all. She is an arms dealing, money laundering drug dealing criminal. Nor do I support Donald Trump's recent executive order simply because it is illegal. When a newly elected president starts whipping out executive orders at the drop of a hat, that becomes concerning for everyone. That does not represent due process. It just sounds like the man who would be king.

Finian's Dream is the same as Martin Luther King's Dream. Martin Luther King dreamed of the day when the US Constitution would be more than a nice piece of paper hanging on the wall. He dreamed of the day when the constitution would actually be implemented creating a free republic for everyone regardless of race, color or creed. He dreamed of the day when black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing Free at Last, Free at Last, Thank God Almighty, we are Free at Last! That includes Muslims.

If you are going to change something you need to give people notice. Crazy sweeping changes while people are mid air is insane and cruel. Building a brick wall around the Statue of Liberty is counter productive. When you fence people out, you also fence people in.

Canada offers temporary home to those stranded by Trump order

Woman set for deportation attempts suicide at JFK

God Bless Federal judge Ann Donnelly.

Update: The Vancouver Province is reporting that Trump asked Rudy Giuliani for a ‘Muslim ban’ and ordered a commission to do it ‘legally’. Only religious discrimination is against the law. It violates the US Constitution and a free republic.

Rabbi Dan Moskovitz of Temple Shalom speaks as the Concerned Canadian Clergy for Refugees call upon the Canadian Government and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to immediately extend Transit Visas for individuals who have American visa in hand. "In rare unity, Orthodox and liberal denominations are critical of Trumps refugee ban."

  1. Turnip Truck Trump may have done the democrats, left, etc. a big favour. Hell there are reports that LAWYERS ARE WORKING FOR FREE at Airports to assist people to deal with immigration and detention.

it is clear Turnip Truck Trump did not anticipate the amount of anger his exlusion order would create. it has frightened not only Muslims but people of other religions.

Washington State is having its problems. Patti Murray a Senator from Washington State could not get answers about the edict. State Repulicans couldn't get answers but were taking a lot of flack from the public. Airport managers weren't happy about the additional people in detention and the extra protestors. Corporations and Universities aren't happy. they're loosing some of their new best and brightest staff. With a lunatic running the country, the U.S.A needs all the smart people it can get. Oh, well if they come to Canada and open offices here, we'll do very well. there is lots of office space in Calgary, cheap and nice neighbourhoods. Yes I know it gets cold there, but its still a good place to live. The Calgary Mayor was voted best Mayor in the World last year and he is Muslim. They could build a whole new high tech sector in Calgary.

    1. Good point about the Calgary mayor. I didn't realize that:

  2. LOL, nice try, more predictable fear mongering from the left. Amazing how these folks are always so "afraid" they're willing to rush headlong into totalitarianism to escape their fear. More amazing still they never learn the lessons of history regarding this. They mouth off about the will of the people except when they lose at the ballot box and the will of the people doesn't match up with their political objectives. Hillary Clinton is a nut job even worse (if that's possible) than Obama and under her you would have seen a lot of "idea's so good they have to be mandatory". Between the radical left Dem's (you know, the ones who are getting bussed in to smash up windows and "demonstrate" at the inauguration) and the Rebublican "establishment" the American people would never again have had an opportunity at a free and fair election. Well, this one wasn't fair either but Trump still won. The next one will be because the voter fraud issue will be dealt with. Expect to see people going to jail, just like some of those fake demonstrators who are now charged with felony rioting.

You can try and spin this any way you want, but at the end of the day it won't fly. Trump is doing what he was elected to do, and anyone who doesn't like it is free to move to Canada. Oh that's right, all those mouthy Hollywood "celebrities" who threatened to do that? None of them are leaving yet.....big surprise.

    1. That has crossed right over into the Twilight Zone. Religious discrimination is against the law. That's all there is to it.

  3. I do not think lowering oneself to name-calling is going to help.

It is probably about time some of those lawyers volunteered their time, anyway. I would like to see the stats for the number of lawyers show-boating in front of the media trying to get some free advertising.

I am pretty sure Trump is more aware than most of how the liberal media manufactures sensationalism.

If these 7 countries represent the worlds' best and brightest one would think these countries would be at the top of the First World list and constitute the G7.

Perhaps, it is merely the wealthy capitalist elite of these countries who have been able to enjoy a life of luxury and holiday in the USA. Perhaps they need to help their own countrymen improve their lives at home.

Perhaps the real issue is the fact Trump is actually keeping his election promises and fulfilling them during his first days in office, as opposed to leaving them until before the next election and then only introducing a pale shadow of the promise, like politicians in Canada do.

It is rather amazing how the liberals of the world think the USA is their own personal playground and only they can set the rules. Where is the media representation of those tens of millions in the USA who voted for Trump to do exactly what he is doing? Why are they being silenced?

    1. Actually Trump is breaking the law and the matter will hopefully be resolved by the courts swiftly.

    2. we will know if the courts deal with it by tomorrow night because that is when we find out if Pryor is going to be his nominee. If he is, don't expect much from the Supreme Court of U.S.A.

it has been alleged he and Jeff Sessions are "very, very close". so close some police officers who were monitoring them go the "wrong/right" idea. This is going to be entertaining, unfortunately the law and the country will suffer.

There are all sorts of e.g.s where this law is going to make a mess of things, but it really comes down to the constitution of the U.S.A.. I've read it and this "proclamation" doesn't quite work in with it.

    3. True enough. When that Canadian was unlawfully detained in the US then deported to Syria where he was tortured instead of back to Canada the court said the constitution didn't apply to him because he wasn't a US citizen. That's why they have CIA black prison sites in Guantanamo Bay and in foreign countries. They think that because it's not on American soil, they're not bound by the constitution. It is the epitome of evil.

    4. Well, it turns out that Pryor was not his nominee, Neil Gorsuch is. But I expect e.a.f. will not be happy with him either. The truth is, the left would been unhappy with ANYONE Trump picked. The proof? The usual bussed-in (thank you George Soros front organization) professional protesters were out in front of the Supreme Court building BEFORE Gorsuch was announced. LOL.

When Gorsuch was appointed to the 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals, he was UNANIMOUSLY confirmed by the Senate. Now all of a sudden "Chucklehead Charlie" Schumer and his gang of usual suspects, Diane Feinstein, Nasty Peolosi, et al "have doubts" about his suitability. Hey, you voted for him....

Look for more of this useless political theater by the Dems, because Trump has the margin to pass any bill or confirm anyone he appoints, at least for the next 2 years, and I predict that the Dem's will suffer even more losses in 2018, because Trump is doing exactly what he promised, and exactly what he what elected to do. Anyone he endorses and/or campaigns for in 2018 will get a serious bounce from that.

      Don't hate me, I'm just the messen-jah.

    5. Sadly Trump is uniting the left and everyone else with a brain to oppose him. This only confirms my original concerns about him being racist and destroys any defense that I was trying to build claiming that not all of his supporters are racist. Now they are.

  4. Read Title 8 United States Code, Section 1182. THAT IS THE LAW. Don't like it, change it, but until you do, it's still the law. Trump is doing what he said he was going to do, and what he was elected to do.

Don't underestimate the amount of political hypocrisy at play here. In 2015 Schumer supported the suspension of the Refugee Program as a necessary thing. Now that Trump actually did it, he's crying fake tears.

    1. The constitution is the highest law of the land. When the President or the government makes a law that violates the constitution, that law is illegal. I do not support this executive order.

  5. hi its e.a.f. here. Don't know enough about the new nominee to make a judgement/opinion about him. I'd want to know what his record has been on issues such as health, choice, school integration, Shelby county--over suppression, etc.

trump is talking about repealing a law LBJ sponsored while a senator in 1954, which further defines the separation of church and state. Trump is thinking about "repealing" it. When you start to mix church and state the question becomes what is the difference between these "Christian" types and Taliban thugs? Both want to impose their "values/opinions" on others based on their religion. it would be interesting to see what a world of atheists would be like who simply believed in humanity and goodness.

    1. His position on choice? Oh you're referring to his position on late term murder. Yes that certainly is a controversial topic.

As for the separation between church and state, that is always a good thing. When you blur that division it becomes inherently problematic. Which church do you adopt? The Catholic church? The Protestant church? The Jewish or Muslim church? The adaptation of a single state religion is a step towards the formation of marxist leninist atheist sate. Both are contradictory to a free republic.
