Police in Victoria investigating two bodies found on Christmas Day

The Peace Arch News is reporting that "Police on Vancouver Island are investigating after two bodies were found in a Greater Victoria apartment building on Christmas Day." Freaking crackheads. People have lost their minds.

The Times Colonist is reporting that "Two children are dead and their father is injured in what Oak Bay police are investigating as possible homicides and an attempted suicide on Christmas Day. The young girls, ages four and six, were found dead in the ground-floor apartment at 1400 Beach Dr. around 5 p.m., when police entered the suite. The father was found with self-inflicted injuries in an attempted suicide, sources close to the family told the Times Colonist." Insane.

CBC has released pictures of the daughters. The guy is a complete mental case.

  1. WTF is wrong with people, that they do these things to children? Truly there are some evil people walking the planet.

  2. I will never ever understand what would possess a man to kill his own children to "win" a fight with their mother. It usually seems to be daughters rather than sons....could it be as simple as that they are female like their mother? I think it's clear there is something defective in these men, some deep seated flaw....And twice in a week in the same province....one wonders if the second was "inspired" by the first....as the article says, "There are no words".

    RIP Chloe and Aubrey.

    1. There have been several murders over Christmas including the two domestic ones you cite. There is no logic in them. It is incomprehensible.

  3. The business related stuff I get, it is what it is. Turds being turds. Kids I don't. "No women, no kids". The heart that doesn't break seeing those two girls, and the other two as well, is no heart at all.

  4. When nothing is sacred …

Sadly, it will only get worse as we, as a society, get further from the sacred.

  5. As the first comment asked: what is wrong with people? Well its usually mental health issues. It maybe the second case, in Victoria was inspired by the first, it is hard to say.

Killing your former spouses children is the ultimate revenge. It can not get any worse. What is always amazing to me, is that two people who once loved one and other so much, can now hate each other so much that they would inflict that much pain on the other.

It is doubtful the men even thought of the children, as their children, but rather a means to an end. There is such a thing as a family annihilator, but those people usually kill their families because the don't believe any one can look after their children as well as they can so in a bid to save their loved ones from pain, they kill them. Its a form of mental illness.

it would appear that in the second case, the father was not mentally fit to have unsupervised visits with his children. The judge will have to live with that and the family court system needs to review their methods. The judge ruled the children would benefit from parenting by their father. Right, he murdered them. One does wonder what his mental state was and why that wasn't picked up on. He had threatened the mother in the past.

    1. Under normal circumstances the courts award joint custody because that is in the kid's best interest. I don't see killing the kids as any kind of revenge. It's just plain insane.

  6. joint custody may be in the kids best interest, but if one parent has threatened physical violence on the other parent, supervised visits are the way to go.

Killing children is revenge and yes its insane, but its revenge. In the Oak Bay case the father was required to turn the children over to the mother at noon. At some time in the previous 12 hrs. he decided he wasn't going to do that. He wasn't going to "shAre". He was angry with his former spouse. Once anger sets in, anything can happen. he may not have thought of it as revenge, but it is. How to hurt the other party, you don't kill them, you kill the children. What ever the motivation, the father had to be mentally unstable to kill his own children and then to try to kill himself.

    1. I think the court separates threats against the wife from threats against the children. I have no idea if this guy ever made a threat against either. I know plenty of women that are very vengeful. That however doesn't normally escalate into murdering children. That is completely insane. Even if a woman is abusive towards the man, she still usually has access to the kids. There are a lot of good fathers out there who pick up the slack on behalf of the mother.

    2. According to the Canadian Children's Rights Council, it appears it is not men who go around killing their children to nearly the extent that women do:
