Alec Baldwin indicted for fatal shooting on movie set

CTV is reporting that "A grand jury indicted Alec Baldwin on Friday on an involuntary manslaughter charge in a 2021 fatal shooting during a rehearsal on a movie set in New Mexico, reviving a dormant case against the actor."

Everything about this case is sad because despite the fact that I hate the guy it was obviously a tragic accident that could have easily been avoided if he wasn't such a leftist freak and took the time to learns some basic gun safety.

    1. I guess my main thing is the most basic rules of gun safety are control the muzzle and always assume it it loaded. You never point it at someone. Ever. However, in movies you do. So obeying that basic rule becomes problematic when the script calls for someone to shoot someone with a dummy round.

  2. Camera angles will usually allow for the weapon to be aimed off center rather than pointed directly. With the right setup for the camera shot the audience can't really tell if the weapon is pointed directly or a bit off to one side.

    1. I would hope so. There are a lot of movies out there with people shooting at each other and a great deal of pressure to make it look more and more realistic.

  3. Imagine shooting someone accidentally with a single action revolver. 🙄

    1. He claimed he pulled the hammer back but never pulled the trigger. I don't believe him but it is theoretically possible if it was cocked and he bumped it or dropped it, that could have caused it to go off.

  4. They always say their finger was not on the trigger. Always.
