Police identify suspect in Smoke Dawg's murder

CBC is reporting that "Toronto police have released the name of a teenage suspect who is wanted in connection with the Entertainment District shooting that left two men dead on Canada Day. He is Keyshawn Jones, 16, of Toronto. Jahvante Smart, a 21-year-old Toronto rapper known as Smoke Dawg, and Ernest "Kosi" Modekwe, 28, who was a brand manager with the hip-hop music collective Prime, were killed. Jones is wanted for two counts of first-degree murder, and one count of attempt murder, police said in a statement late Thursday. Investigators had previously said the teenager could not be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. But police now say "judicial authorization has been obtained to identify" him. "The judicial authorization expires on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 2:30 p.m," the statement said."

That makes no sense. The young offenders act bans the publication of the names of young offenders. Chuck Cadman lobbied for changes to the young offenders act where young offenders charged with violent crimes like murder can be tried as an adult and named. I am not aware of any expiration dates. The Youth Criminal Justice Act (Feb 19 2002) states the names of 15 to 17 year olds who are convicted of serious, violent crimes, such as murder or aggravated sexual assault, can be reported in the media. The name can also be reported if the young offender is being tried as an adult. If the youth has been found guilty of an offence and is given an adult sentence, their name can be reported in the media. Section 110 of the YCJA.

The Communist takeover of the Supreme Court of Canada

Judicial Treason dot ca: Seven for the Hangman

This is a dark day for civil liberty in Canada. The supreme court of Canada just threw away the Canadian Charter of Rights. The courts have the right and obligation to uphold the law. They do not have the authority to break the law or create the law. However, that is exactly what they have done. The Canadian judicial system now needs to be renovated.

In 2016 the Law Society of BC was rebuked by the BC Court of Appeal for knowingly violating the Charter of Rights. The court upheld the B.C. Supreme Court ruling that the law society was wrong for denying certification to Lawyers from Trinity Western University because they did not approve of their religious beliefs or moral standards. In July, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal also upheld Trinity Western University law school. It is a private law school not a public one.

It is illegal to discriminate against someone for their religious beliefs even if you don't like them. The B.C. College of Teachers tried to ban religious teachers and that failed because it was an illegal act just as banning religious lawyers is. The freedom of religion is protected in the charter.

Global is reporting that the supreme court just over turned those lawful decisions with an insane decision that tears up the charter and imposes Communism in Canada by way of court order. This is the final proof Canadians need to overhaul the broken Canadian Judicial System.

There are several Catholic Law schools in the United States. The Columbus school of law is one, the Georgetown University law center is another. Ever heard of Notre Dame - the Fighting Irish? That is another Catholic Law School. Is the Ontario supreme court going to now disband those institutions? No but they claim they can now deny those graduates a Canadian law license. That is completely insane. It is now time to fix the broken Canadian Judaical System once and for all. Canadian judges need to be accountable to the public who pay their wages.

"B.C.’s Ministry of Advanced Education said in an e-mail that the Supreme Court ruling appears consistent with our government’s values.” Goodbye BC NDP. I will never vote for you again.

If someone created a university for gays only, heterosexuals were not allowed, that would be their right within a free and democratic society. If they turned that university into a law school, that would be their right. If the law society denied them certification, that would be illegal as it would be discrimination on prohibited grounds just like this decision is. The State has no right or jurisdiction to tell anyone or any group of people what they can or cannot believe. Yet they just did. The court just discriminated on prohibited grounds. This is a copy of the recent decision.

Beverley McLachlin, right after she commits this illegal act retires. Go f*ck yourself. She was made Chief Justice of Canada on January 7, 2000 by Jean Chrétien. Her successor as Chief Justice of Canada is Richard Wagner, who was nominated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on December 12, 2017. Harvey Wallbanger was also invoked in this criminal act. Fire them.

Russell Brown and Suzanne Côté recorded their dissent in paragraphs 56 - 80.

The not so honourable Rosalie Silberman Abella also voted in favor of destroying religious freedom in Canada. Amazing what a little Photoshop can do. Rosalie was just elected to the American Philosophical Society. Hmmm how's their government grants going to do when Donald Trump gets wind of this? She killed Benjamin Franklin's ideal she didn't support it. Whatever you do, keep that woman away from the US Constitution. She will break that too.

Michael J. Moldaver was appointed to the bench by Stephen Harper. He's no expert on the Canadian Charter of Rights. Destroying a document does not make you an expert on it. Richard Wagner is a Roman Catholic that just killed religious freedom for a group of protestants. Don't you think that also kills it for Catholics you brain dead idiot?

Clément Gascon is also a Quebecer who just killed religious freedom in Canada. If you only had a brain. Malcolm Rowe is from Newfoundland. Memorizing volumes of diluted jurisprudence does not make you an expert in the Constitution if you kill it's original intent. Another clown in a Santa suit who can't see the forest through the trees. Andromache Karakatsanis also voted in favor of killing religious freedom. So are they all Communists or are they just stupid?

God Bless Russell Brown and Suzanne Côté.

Fundamental Freedoms:

Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights sates that "Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: (a) freedom of conscience and religion; (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and (d) freedom of association." Until today.

This is a copy of the BC Court of Appeal Decision which was correct.

I'm still looking for pages 56 - 80 of the recent decision that killed the Canadian Charter of Rights where Russell Brown and Suzanne Côté recorded their dissent.

Evidently Canadian lawyers laundering money is fine but a religious affiliation isn't.

I don't even like born agains. They are irritating and intolerant. Yey they have a right to their religious beliefs just like everyone else. Ask yourself what kind of gay rights there are in Communism. There aren't any. Under Castro, "LGBT people, particularly gay men, were routinely sent to prison without trial or charge by the state."

Surrey First wants to put Hjorth Road Elementary School on a Traffic Island

Hjorth Road Elementary School is on a busy intersection at 104th Avenue and 148th Street in Surrey. The kids there are marginalized. Volunteers pulled together to build their playground while Dianne Watts built her ivory tower City hall at Surrey central. Shania Twain has visited Hjorth Road Elementary to open the first Shania Kids Can program in British Columbia.

Surrey First is determined to steam roll right over those marginalized kids and put their school on a traffic island. They are building a road right through their playing field. The other side of the school is on 104th Avenue which is a busy road connecting freeway traffic with Surrey Central.

To make room for the LRT on 104th which we don't want, they are getting ready to extend 105th right through the school playing field. However, you will notice that it is not physically possible for 105th to go straight through the playing field because it would run into an apartment building. That means the road they are getting ready to build will cut through the middle of the playing field and cut diagonally towards the school right beside the new playground the volunteers built.

On 104th Avenue the back of the school buts up to a small strip mall.

There's not much room on that side of the school.

This is not progress. This is not green development. This is bad planning. We will document this exploitation of marginalized kids for the world to see just like the parking lot fraud at the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Without question Surrey First has been Surrey's Worst. This will be Surrey First's final act of defiance before the October 20th election. I object to it.

Go visit the site and see for yourself.

Divers rescue soccer team trapped in Thai cave - Update

The Independent is reporting that "Divers have begun the operation to rescue 12 Thai boys and their football coach, who have been trapped in a flooded cave for more than two weeks. Officials on Sunday morning said that “today is D-Day” as they face a race against time to extract the children from the narrow Tham Luang cave complex before more monsoon rains arrive."

New Zealand Stuff is reporting that "A specialist Australian doctor had gone into the cave on Saturday to check the medical health of the boys and had given them the all clear for the rescue to proceed." CNN is posting live updates. Thai government releases graphic about the rescue.

Video of the boys found alive in the cave. They still need to be rescued to get out.

A diver died Friday while placing compressed-air tanks along a route through the vast complex.

Six Thai schoolboys rescued from flooded cave

Reuters is reporting that "Six of 12 schoolboys have been rescued so far from a flooded Thai cave after divers launched a daring and dangerous mission to free the children and their soccer coach, who were trapped underground for more than two weeks, Thai officials said. A helicopter flew some of the boys to the nearby city of Chiang Rai where they were taken by ambulance to hospital. Rescuing them all could take three to four days and depended on the weather, an army commander involved in the mission had said earlier."

Update: New York Times: Thai Boys Rescued After 18 Days in Cave

The Evening Standard is reporting that "The 12 Thai boys and their football coach who were trapped in a cave in Thailand got through the ordeal by practicing meditation, family members have said. The coach who was rescued from the cave on Tuesday, trained as a Buddhist monk for 12 years before he decided to coach the Wild Boars soccer team."

Surrey's Yaletown: Whalley’s World Transformed

Today Bruce Ralston and Bruce Hayne spoke at the Whalley street festival. Whalley is indeed transforming. The changes to the Surrey Strip are astounding. Getting the homeless into modular housing and getting rid of the tents is a huge step forward for everyone. Surrey supports Gentrification. Adding zoning for rental housing will make the transformation complete.

Two years ago Tom Zytaruk from the Surrey Now reported that "Big plans afoot for Flamingo Hotel site as developer eyes creating Surrey's Yaletown." This is good news for everyone. We have already started to see the transformation. Getting rid of the Dell show lounge was a huge step forward. That place was a dive. Now Planet Fitness and a new grocery store under construction in a new strip mall has been a real upgrade.

Panchos's is a sh*t hole. So is the Byrd and the Flamingo hotel. Aside from being a Hells Angels drug dealing cesspool, the hotel was also the HQ for the Hells Angels exotic dance industry monopoly. Everything the HAs touch in Surrey turns to trash. If Randy Jones wants to sell Dank and legal pot feel free but his involvement in selling crack, crystal meth and fentanyl along with drug addicted prostitution, has to come to an end. Natural justice will not condone that kind of exploitation in Surrey any more. Getting rid of the Flamingo Hotel along with Pancho's and the Byrd is exactly what we all need. That is progress.

Invest in Surrey is a website devoted to progress. Last year they held a Invest in Surrey Launchpad. Aside from Linda Hepner, every single person in that group is a keeper.

US and China prisons: Two different extremes

The problems with the prison system in China are obvious. China has political prisoners. They put you in jail for being Buddhists. That violates a fundamental right. Then they execute prisoners for organ harvesting. That is obscene. It's all about making money. Yet the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world. That is a serious flaw within the land of the free.

In the US private for profit prisons are slave labour traded on the stock exchange. Giving inmates the opportunity to work for early release is a good thing. Keeping people incarcerated to fund cheap labour for corporations is not. Private prisons traded on the stock exchange is insane. That is simply human trafficking.

Clearly China and the US are two opposite extremes that we do not want to emulate. Norway is obviously the better model. Private for profit prisons have no motivation for rehabilitation. Their motive is keep people in prisons and working for cheap labour. In 2009, the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that private prisons are an unconstitutional violation of basic human rights.

Millions of American adults are not allowed to vote due to a felony conviction.

MI 6 launch nerve agent attack in England

The fake news has become absurd. We've been through this before. Russia had no motive to use a nerve agent on a former KGB Agent in England. He was convicted of treason in a Russian prison. If they wanted to kill him they could have easily done so then. There was absolutely no motive to kill him years later. He had no new secrets to reveal. Now we hear news of two more victims in Salisbury that may have come in contact with left over poison from the previous attack. It just doesn't get any more ridiculous than that.

Russia is hosting the world cup and it has been a very successful event I might add. There is no motive for them to launch a nerve gas attack in England during the world cup. There is no motive there whatsoever. When Dr David Kelly blew the whistle on MI 6 for knowingly and intentionally sending false information to the media about Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction in Operation mass appeal, MI 6 murdered him on British soil. When the corporate media blindly prints every press release MI 6 sends them they lose what little credibility they had left.

Travel Vloggers fall to their death at Shannon Falls

Tragically the three hikers who fell to their death at Shannon Falls in Squamish were popular travel vloggers. I'm all for travel and I'm all for the outdoors but thrill seekers are to be shunned because they are reckless and unsafe. Swimming above Shannon falls is simply unwise. A tragic end to the lives of three wonderful young people that could have easily been avoided.

CBC is reporting that in one of his last Instagram posts, Vancouver-based Gamble said "Life isn't about responsibilities, tough decisions and hard work, it's about feeling bliss and living in the moment." He obviously didn't have kids. He never came to learn what duty, responsibility, obligation and sacrifice are. Those are characteristics of real men. Hard work is a fundamental principle in life. His motto is something a drug addict would say. It is misdirected.

Fatal West Kelowna house fire a suspected drug lab

CBC is reporting that "Police suspect a house that exploded in flames in West Kelowna Wednesday night, killing one person and leaving two more in critical condition, was being used for the production of drugs. The incident began in the 3000 block of Elliot Road around 9:30 p.m. PT, and fire crews worked through the early morning hours to extinguish the fire, ultimately tearing the house down to soak the flames. On Friday, West Kelowna RCMP announced the province's RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team (CLEAR) was supporting local police investigators."

Inmate writes Human Rights Commission before comitting suicide

CBC is reporting that Five days before Chris Sutton took his own life at Her Majesty's Penitentiary, he wrote a letter to the human rights commission asking for help. In the one-page letter, Sutton requested that the commission send him a copy of "all the guidelines that fall under your department." "I would like to know about our rights to fresh air, and what the minimum requirement of fresh air a person should receive per day when inside an institution," he wrote. "Also along with the amount of exercise per day, I [would] like to know how long a person can be confined to a cell that has 24-hour lighting or if that's even allowed at all??"

"In October 2017, the provincial government announced changes to the way it segregates prisoners for disciplinary reasons. The changes included a reduction in maximum segregation time from 15 days to 10. Inmates will also have visitation privileges, as well as access to programs and services." Clay Roueche was in solitary for two years.

CNN is reporting that "Year after year, the United States beats out much larger countries - India, China - and more totalitarian ones - Russia and the Philippines - for the distinction of having the highest incarceration rate in the world." CNN posted some video clips. China is totalitarian BTW.

110 Pounds of Fentanyl From China Seized at Philadelphia Port

The Epoch Times is reporting that "U.S. customs officials recently seized 110 pounds of fentanyl originating from China at a Philadelphia port. Fifty bags of the deadly synthetic opioid were found in a shipment of barrels containing iron oxide and had an estimated street value of $1.7 million, according to a press release by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on June 28. The bags were first detected by customs officers using a narcotics dog."

Blaze's Abbotsford charges in court July 16th

Castanet is reporting that flysh*t was sentenced to five and a half years in jail in Kelowna court last week, but he still faces firearms charges in Chilliwack later this month. He went to the wrong house with a shotgun to collect a drug debt. McWhirter was prohibited from possessing firearms at the time, stemming from two domestic assault convictions in 2012. Two domestic assault convictions. "On July 16, McWhirter is scheduled to begin a trial in Chilliwack Supreme Court on two weapons charges, and a breach of bail charge. McWhirter was out on bail on his other drugs and weapons charges at the time of these alleged offences." You are such a Loser.

Linda Hepner asks Trudeau for $10 million

The Peacearch News is reporting that "Surrey mayor asks feds for $10M to combat gang problems." Yeah right, she wants $10 million alright. To go on another junket before she leaves office. She hasn't done a thing to combat gang violence while in office so why is she going to start on her way out? This is just more smoke and mirrors. She's going to say we tried to combat gang violence but the federal government wouldn't fund it. It doesn't take any extra funding to arrest the drug dealers in Shakerz or on the Surrey Strip. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Good riddance to Surrey's Worst.

Rich Coleman has allowed gangs to flourish in BC

Rich Coleman's head is on he chopping block. His past misconduct is finally catching up with him. Laila Yuile has cited Sandy Garossino as well as the Peter German report linking Rich Colman to disbanding the Police Task force that investigated organized crime in Casinos after it came out with a damning report about the Hells Angels laundering money in BC Casinos. However, this is nothing new. We told you so. Now other media outlets are picking up on the story.

That's not all Rich Coleman did to help gangs flourish. Rich Coleman disbanded OCABC in 2004. OCABC was the regional organized crime task force that targeted the Hells Angels criminal activity in Operation Phoenix. Prior to Operation Phoenix, which the RCMP deliberately sabotaged, Allen Dalstrom said "when it came to organized-crime investigations, the RCMP had done “f--- all here for 25 years”. So the province set up a task force to finally investigate organized crime in BC and Rich Coleman promptly shut it down. Again.

That's still not all. Prior to the Kelowna Summer Jam, Pat Fogarty said the Hells Angels aren't the problem in Kelowna, it's the other guys we have to worry about. When the OMGU proved him wrong, Rich Coleman and the Christy Clark government disbanded the OMGU. Ever since then gang enforcement in BC has been compromised and the gang task force stopped targeting the Hells Angels criminal activity. They just focused on seizing the proceeds of crime without lifting a finger to disrupt street level drug trafficking. They just wanted to collect a fee for letting it prosper.

Then the compromised BC Gang task force's spin doctor claimed "Lack of criminal designation for Hells Angels in B.C. allows biker gang to flourish." That was simply untrue. The lack of criminal organization status didn't prevent the OMGU from successfully convicting David Giles and Johnny Newcome in Kelowna. Seizing the proceeds of crime is a smoke and mirrors distraction. Gangs in BC are flourishing because the OMGU was disbanded and the compromised gang task force stopped targeting the Hells Angels drug traficking.

To fix the problem we need to bring organized crime back into provincial jurisdiction because the federal RCMP don't want to touch it. We can keep the Surrey RCMP as long as they are willing to enforce the law and stop street level drug trafficking. That is the New York model. I was there.

Rich Coleman should be in jail along with Wally Oppal.

Second mayor in the Philippines shot dead

CNN is reporting that "A second town mayor in the Philippines has been shot and killed by an unknown assailant, a day after one was assassinated by a sniper in a brazen daylight attack. Mayor Ferdinand Bote of the town of General Tinio in Nueva Ecija province was gunned down by a motorcycle-riding suspect in nearby Cabanatuan City on Tuesday afternoon, police told CNN Philippines. Bote appears to have been the victim of a drive-by shooting, in which he was struck multiple times, while riding in his beige Toyota Fortuner, according to the police report. Bote was declared dead on arrival at MV Gallego hospital and an investigation has been launched."

Adam MacGillivray runs for Surrey city council

It's nice to hear that Adam MacGillivray is running for city council. I know him and I support him. Stuart is a nice guy and is very intelligent. It's just that I disagree with most but not all his political positions. Adam however, is rock solid.

Dr Zheng Shuen and the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China

I received an email from the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China expressing their concerns that Dr Zheng Shuen, a specialist in forced organ harvesting in China will be speaking at the TTS2018 in Madrid today.

The letter states "We are a group of legal professionals, academics, ethicists, medical professionals and researchers with an interest in advancing knowledge about China’s system of organ procurement and transplantation and promoting ethical medical practices in China. We are extremely concerned to note that Dr. Zheng Shusen is participating in TTS 2018, scheduled to speak on July 2 in a plenary session. (https://tts.guide/webapp/lecture/15) This will be the second time Zheng has appeared at a TTS conference. His first appearance in 2016 occasioned widespread controversy. Below we set out a series of facts about Dr Zheng in support of our urgent request that he be precluded from the conference on the grounds of multiple, serious and prolonged breaches of international ethical standards regarding organ transplantation."

The letter which is signed by a long list of professional academics states that "Zheng has personally performed thousands of transplants during a period when very few, if any, cadaver organs were sourced from voluntary, non-prisoner donors."

We have talked about this before. Communist China's longstanding practice of organ harvesting from political prisoners. This dark evil is very real. Anastasia Lin spoke about about it and was banned from participating in the Miss world pageant because of drawing attention to it. She was in a movie filmed in Vancouver that explained the problem called The Bleeding Edge.

I myself have attended and written about Falun gong protests in Vancouver. The Epoch Times has covered the genocide clearly but the main stream media barely mentions it. Ethan Gutmann has spoken out about it. We need to face this because it is real. Ethics matter.

Listening to the sound of one hand clapping

Since my book is still a very long way away, I thought I'd throw a post out there to help set the stage and start the ball rolling in the direction of thought that my book will stimulate. When I was young the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was popular. In fact it was epic. I was drawn to it from my study of Zen in the martial arts and the fact that I also rode full seasons on a motorcycle. However, Zen isn't something we really talk about any more.

Clay Roueche did an epic job of describing the Chinese virtues in his Book of Indomitable Virtues. In his book Clay talks about walking with dignity, honoring tradition, loyalty, respect, integrity, responsibility, duty, obligation. The list goes on. This is the ghetto gospel and I support it completely. Compare that with Ricky Ciarniello's The Devil's Butler and there is no comparison. One is light, the other is darkness. One is honorable, the other is not. It's that simple.

Although Zen does share the Chinese virtues of Confucianism, Zen is more of a way of looking at things outside the box so to speak. It's kind of Yoda's outlook on the force. It starts off meditating on riddles called koans like what is the sound of one hand clapping or if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it fall, does it really make a sound when it falls? Obviously there is a left brain or analytical way of looking at these riddles as well as a right brain or intuitive way of looking at them. To examine this we need to define yin and yang.

The circle represents the universe without beginning or end. The light and dark represents the two forces in the universe. In the West we see things as linear and we tend to categorize them as opposites like light and darkness or good and evil. In the East they see them as compliments not opposites like male and female or speed and power.

The curved division between the two means there is no distinct line separating the two. One blends into the other. The light blends into darkness. Noise blends into the silence. The small dot on each side represents the fact that one does not exist without the other. For example, if you have never seen the light, you would never know you are sitting in darkness. Likewise if you have never heard noise or music, you would never know you are sitting in silence. In the martial arts it represents the fact that no matter how fast a technique is, it has some power. Likewise no matter how powerful a technique is it has some speed.

Now back to the riddles or koans. Logically the sound of one hand clapping is silence because it doesn't make any noise but does it? If it claps very fast it could create a rustling in the leaves from the wind. If it claps against another object it could make a sound. In fact if it claps against an Irish drum with a wooden stick, the sound of one hand clapping could in fact be a pleasant melody so it could. We just have to think outside the box.

One of the Zen riddles or koans talks about a baby goose that was raised in a bottle. As the goose grew up it became too big to fit out of the neck of the bottle. The riddle is then, how does the goose get out of the bottle without breaking the bottle or killing the goose? Think about it. The final answer is there the goose is out. Most of us are left scratching our heads saying wtf?

Here's the explanation. As we ponder the question we become the goose in the bottle. As we analyze the problem we begin to think outside the box or in this case bottle. As we look for a solution from the outside in, all of a sudden we realize we are out of the bottle. There the goose is out. This is a somewhat romantic metaphor since for all practical purposes the goose is still trapped in the bottle and unable to fly free. Yet I think Clay hit the nail on the head in his book. Clay states that although the media has tried to define him, his thoughts cannot be contained. He concludes that his body may be in prison but his spirit is running free. There! The goose is out.

Yet again, for all practical purposes, Clay is still in prison. Yet his art and his book has escaped for all the world to see. His thoughts can't be contained and his influence is spreading outside of his cell as well. He wrote his book while in solitary confinement. I find that inspiring. In our day and age when people get discouraged with the simplest of hardship, Clay found himself in a pit of darkness and decided to strike a match and light a candle. The light from that candle is radiating far beyond his prison cell. I have two of his prints on my dining room wall. They fill my home with light. His words and his art is shining bright for the world to see. In that sense the goose is out.

Now we just need to right the wrong of his unlawful arrest and transfer him back to Canada.

That would be the right thing to do.

Shooting in Abbotsford

Global is reporting that "Abbotsford Police say a man is recovering in hospital after a shooting Sunday night. Officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Birch Street after receiving a 9-1-1 hang-up call at around 6:15 p.m. BC Ambulance crews arrived to find a man in his early 20s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He remains in critical condition. An 18-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody."

Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wins Mexico's presidential election

The New York Times is reporting that "Riding a wave of populist anger fueled by rampant corruption and violence, the leftist Andrés Manuel López Obrador was elected president of Mexico on Sunday, in a landslide victory that upended the nation’s political establishment and handed him a sweeping mandate to reshape the country.

"The core promises of Mr. López Obrador’s campaign — to end corruption, reduce violence and address Mexico’s endemic poverty — were immensely popular with voters, but they come with questions he and his new government may struggle to answer."

The Canadian Press is reporting that "Lopez Obrador vows that profound change is coming, but says individual and property rights will be guaranteed. He promises respect for the autonomy of the Bank of Mexico and says his government will maintain financial and fiscal discipline. He also says contracts obtained under energy reforms will be scrutinized for any corruption or illegality, but there will be no confiscation or expropriation of property."

It will be interesting to see the state of the privatization and nationalization of Mexico's oil. Nationalizing the oil will fund the social programs alright. The whole point of Operation Fast and Furious, aside from making the CIA money through drug trafficking, was to discredit the existing president so they could elect a new president that would privatize Mexico's oil. Perhaps now that decision will be reversed. Mexico First Campaign Could End Welcome for U.S. Oil Giants.
