31 kilos of crystal meth seized at Canada / US border

CBC is reporting that "More than 30 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine was confiscated at the Aldergrove, B.C. border crossing last month, officials say. On Dec. 11, 2016, a man driving a commercial truck was pulled over for a regular secondary check. When border services officers searched the vehicle, they found a black suitcase filled with several bags of the narcotics."

It's interesting to note that the crystal meth was coming north from the US into Canada like the cocaine. Evidently now that the Hells Angels meth cook in Surrey has left town, they are having to bring it in from the US. Michael Riconosciuto claimed it was the CIA who were cooking the crystal meth in California that the Hells Angels were distributing. Oliver North hired them as well.

  1. 80-90% of the meth in North America is coming in from Mexico these days, and apparently into Canada as well. It's not like there is zero meth production north of the US/Mexico border, but it's harder to get the basic ingredients in the US, vs. Mexico where they off load them in bulk from Chinese freighters. Mexico is a corrupt narco state and they can just pay off (Plato O Plomo) Customs and the Police. Can't do that so much in the US. Or run the superlabs with impunity for the same reason.

Obviously it's more economically feasible to bring it all the way to Canada.

#buildthatwall....It's not just about illegal immigration.

    1. There is a lot of crystal meth being cooked in Mexico now. However, Michael Riconosciuto did testify that the Agency were indeed cooking crystal meth in California before Mexico started. That's why they incarcerated him as a whistleblower for selling or producing drugs.

The wall wouldn't stop the Agency from selling the Mexican cartel guns in Operation Fast and Furious then bringing back tons of cocaine into the US as payment for the guns. The real enemies are the ones from within.

    2. Since most of the crystal meth is coming from Mexico now, it is worth noting that the same cartels the CIA and the ATF were supplying guns to and buying cocaine from in Operation Fast and Furious are the ones manufacturing the crystal meth in Mexico that once again points to the CIA as being the root of the problem.

  2. A wall won't stop much. Remember the Berlin Wall. it stopped somethings but not everything.

Drug dealers will find a way to move their products regardless of walls. They will use ships, trucks, airplanes. if some one wants to smuggle anything, it isn't that hard.

To stop drugs coming through Customs at land entries, would require more staff and dogs. Now go ask if people want to pay for that. most wouldn't, even if they were told the extra taxes were specifically for that line item.

    1. To stop drugs coming into the US from Mexico during Operation Fast and Furious one would have to arrest the Agency that was arms dealing to the cartel for the drugs.

    2. I don't think anyone believes a wall is one stop shopping for a solution. That said a significant number of illegals (and not just Mexicans) hike over the border, and many of them get the coyote's services for free and are paid extra to have a backpack full of product. A wall will make that more difficult, so there's that, and you do have to start somewhere. Americans don't generally suffer from an apathetic "Oh well, what can we do" attitude. Someone who does will cite all of e.a.f.'s reasons and more resulting in really nothing being done. Lead, Follow, or GTFO of the way....

It's funny you should mention the Berlin Wall. I was stationed there for 2 years and have a much better idea than even most others who were there what The Wall would or would not stop. Or at least that's what my slightly redacted copy of my personal STASI file obtained from the records authority responsible for the archives of the former DDR says.....

You have to remember that The Wall was not always an actual wall, even in Berlin, never mind the rest of the inter-German border zone. On various stretches of it, such as where the demarcation line ran along the Teltow Canal, it was not a wall at all, but three separate wire fences on the East side, overwatched by guard towers of course. (Barriers or obstacles that are not overwatched are worthless, they aren't there to do 100% of the job of stopping someone in and of themselves, they're there to slow them down so someone can see them and stop them.) And like any border, there are checkpoints and such. Lots of people/stuff got smuggled through those checkpoints. Trust me.

  3. I would beg to differ on that "oh what can we do' comment regarding attitude. We can do a lot on a lot of things, but I've always been aware of where to pick your fights and what can be accomplished when you start that fight. In some cases the government needs to do some of that fighting and in B.C. the government refuses to do much of anything. So if the government won't pay for hospitalization, detox, rehab, etc. for drug addicts then I'm of the opinion harm reduction is better than letting all those people die. Of course I believe its better for people to not be drug addicted but if there is nothing to help them, then harm reduction is the alternative. now it can be said the government and others see harm reduction as a method of avoiding putting out the real money for rehab and I'd agree.

Until people are adequately housed, not much can be done to improve their quality of life in any area and that includes getting them drug/booze, etc. free. years ago I read a line about if you weren't crazy if you started living on the street, you'd be crazy after a year of living there. I believe that. So it all starts with providing everyone in society with a safe, decent place to live. We may not agree on much, but trust me, I'm not in favour of drug addiction.

    1. The government is paying out money by the millions perpetuating the pharmaceutical scam for drug addicts to be hospitalized and medicated. That is why Surrey Memorial hospital is such a complete zoo filled with drug related violence. The drug addicts are preventing anyone else from getting medical attention in the hospital. That is wrong.

  4. many drug addicts need to be hospitalized. they are sick, can't function. there are increasing numbers in ICU because of brain damage. that has nothing to do with pharmaceutical corporations.

if surrey memorial is "a complete zoo filled with drug related violence" it is obvious the Fraser Health authority is falling down on providing security in that hospital. the problem most likely is the contract for hospital security most likely goes to the lowest bidder or the bidder who donated the most to Christy Clark and the B.C. Lieberals. Would be interesting to see who provides the security in Surrey Memorial and how much they donate to the B.C. lieberals.

Drug addicts are patients also and they under our system are entitled to medical attention in the hospital. what would you suggest? letting them die in the streets? Yes, its not fun when some one needs a bed and it not available because beds are being taken by addicts, but then the government ought to be removing the addicts from acute care hospitals and placing them in other hospitals, i.e. extended care patients are usually some where else. at one time extended care patients were taking up high numbers of acute care beds. that was finally dealt with, in a manner of speaking, now the same needs to be done with those who are drug addicted and can not be released from hospital. trust me, if a hospital can discharge some one they will If an addict is in a hospital bed, its necessary.

    1. The situation at Surrey Memorial hospital has become unmanageable. It's not security's fault. They are over burdened with the problem as is everyone else who workers there. The drug related violence is consuming all the resources and denying everyone else safe medical treatment.

I suggest long term treatment for drug addicts like what Katie got not more harm promotion perpetuating a colossal pharmaceutical fraud that is destroying our medical system.

  5. this provincial government is never going to provide funding for long term treatment for drug addicts. it will cost too much and Christy Clark and the B.C. lieberals don't really care about it. Until the people of Surrey wise up and replace their mayor and some of the MLAs things will just continue as they are or get worse.

It will be interesting to see how other provinces handle the fent. crisis as it moves further and further east. Had this province made some effort to stop it a few years ago, who knows .............

In my opinion this provincial government is only interested in LNG, and the businesses of its financial supporters, oh, and getting re elected. People could be dying by the thousands of fent,. and hospitals turned into war zones but this provincial government will continue to act as if nothing is wrong and the MSM will continue to report on cute dogs and snow.

Although you write about Surrey Memorial I have yet to see one thing by the MSM on the subject and trust me I believe you when you write about this.

    1. Vernon is the only town in BC dealing with the Fentanyl crisis. The MSM isn't reporting on the drug related violence at SMH any more than they are reporting about the fact that all the medical clinics in Surrey close down as soon as the drug addicts fill their daily quota.

Tearing down that brand new parking lot they built at the SMH only to build a new parking lot was the perfect example of complete fiscal mismanagement.
