Immunization cannot be made mandatory because of the Canadian Constitution

According to the Health Canada website, "Unlike some countries, immunization is not mandatory in Canada; it cannot be made mandatory because of the Canadian Constitution."

"Only three provinces have legislation or regulations under their health-protection acts to require proof of immunization for school entrance. It must be emphasized that, in these three provinces, exceptions are permitted for medical or religious grounds and reasons of conscience; legislation and regulations must not be interpreted to imply compulsory immunization."

  1. Correct -- vaccination will never be made mandatory in Canada.... and it's not. "proof of immunization for school entrance" does not mean "mandatory vaccine". It means you can't enter the schools. There are other options for schooling.

I'm not COVID-vaxxed but I think [proven] vaccines should be mandatory for small children. Vaccines in general are proven to save lives. I'll trust the COVID vaccine after about 5 or 10 more years of research.

It's not like COVID's ever going to go away, since there are so many people allowing it to spread. If they would have simply locked down the planet for 14 days, under threat of execution of whoever leaves their home, then COVID would've been gone a long time ago.

    1. We have learned that lockdowns are not the answer.
