The Dalai Lama tweets common sense
The Dalai Lama recently tweeted "I really feel that some people neglect and overlook compassion because they associate it with religion. Of course, everyone is free to choose whether they pay religion any regard, but to neglect compassion is a mistake because it is the source of our own well-being." Truth. You don't need religion to have compassion. Compassion is common sense. Life without compassion is like life without a heart or soul. It is empty and meaningless.

I would be the first to agree that vengeance and justice should be tempered with compassion. When appropriate. It isn't always.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, if I take guidance from anyone in this, it's The Lama.
Vengeance? That sounds more like something for Dr Phil to straighten out.
Delete"Vengeance is mine, I shall repay" sayeth the Lord. So we're already in good company following the example and word of our creator.
ReplyDeleteFor what is justice but society's vengeance up the law breaker and the evil doer? A matter of degree between how those two words are seen, but really pretty much the same thing.
Exactly. Vengeance is up to God not man. You really have to get off the crack. Vengeance and justice are completely different. A sage does not seek vengeance. A Jedi does not seek vengeance. Vengeance is something a Sith seeks. Just sayin.
