Canadian warship seizes 500 kilos of Heroin

Well this is somewhat ironic. Afghanistan is the largest heroin producing nation in the world. At least it was brought back to that status after the allied invasion. The Taliban had almost completely stopped the heroin production in Afghanistan the year before the invasion.

Yet the Department of National Defence says HMCS Toronto seized around 500 kilograms of heroin from a boat in the Indian Ocean on Friday. No doubt some of that could have ended up on Canadian streets. We have a freaking safe injection site for God’s sake where drug dealers sell it in public without consequence. Things that make ya go hmmm…

  1. There is an actual heroin-injecting Clinic; where clients get a daily injection of high-grade dope. I talked to the guy, the program is two years long. The drug is administered free. It's some kind of social experiment...

  2. OMG that is my biggest concern. Creating a safe injection site is one thing. Giving people free drugs at the tax payers expense is another. We might as well just write a cheque directly to the Hells Angels and save people all that misery.

  3. Interesting. American troops have been accused of protecting these grow fields in Afhanistan. Not saying troops are actually doing this, but it has long been reported and I would like to take the oppurtunity and take a shot at certain government's and their role in drug dealing. Don't know if I'm allowed to post links but here....... http://www.globalresearch.ca/are-american-troops-protecting-afghan-opium/5309922 . Wouldn't that be a shame if soldiers were protecting heroin fields.... When cities like Chicago, L.A. and Detroit are riddled with drug addictions and gun violence. And the "troops" are protecting product while a city like Chicago sure could use a soldier or two planted on their streets. I think you have written about Gary Webb before. Have you looked into Freeway Rick Ross? I am not talking about the rapper. The rapper was actually once a cop and stole Freeway Rick Ross's stories and persona to become a millionare rapper. Anyway, there is a lot of good stuff out there on Freeway Rick Ross including a lot of stuff about him and Gary Webb. He was L.A.'s biggest drug dealer and without his knowledge was actually selling drugs for the C.I.A. to help fund the IRAN-Contra affair. He's a very interesting guy and is doing good things with his life and helping others. I'm done kissing his ass, but check out the real Freeway Rick Ross and not the identity stealing lying rapper. His podcasts with Joe Rogan have been entertaining and very interesting, but at least read up on the guy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%22Freeway%22_Rick_Ross

  4. Of course you’re allowed to post links. Yes I’ve heard of Ricky Ross. Gary Webb was right. The CIA was responsible for the US crack epidemic in the /80’s through Iran contra. That’s what makes Operation Fast and Furious so relevant to us today. Freeway Ricky is out of jail? American troops are protecting opium fields in Afghanistan. That’s my whole point. Back in the day they at least hid the fact. Not any more: http://gangstersout.blogspot.ca/2011/04/opium-in-afghanistan.html

  5. Vancouver clinic offers free heroin in North American first.

"A clinic in Vancouver began recruiting heroin addicts to give them free drugs, as part of a national study that's the first of its kind in North America."

"The North American Opiate Medication Initiative plans to enroll 470 hard-to-treat addicts in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, Toronto and Montreal – about 157 people at each site."

"About half the volunteers in the $8.1-million study will receive free, pharmaceutical-grade heroin for 12 months, which they will administer themselves in a clinic under medical supervision."

    1. That is absolutely disgusting. It completely mocks law and order. It totally supports the violence we see in the gang war. It is criminal negligence and misappropriation of tax dollars. So we are raising the age of retirement so we can spend tax dollars on free heroin. That will send our country down the toilet faster than you can say what happened. It’s time to sue their asses of. This program should not be happening and it should not be funded with tax dollars.

    2. "After a year, the group on heroin will gradually be moved into the methadone program or to another treatment method.

Researchers, led by Dr. Martin Schechter of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, hope the addicts will make positive changes to their lives because they won't have to steal or prostitute themselves to get money for drugs.

The doctors also hope that by giving the heroin away, they will reduce overdoses and HIV infections."

"The prescribed-heroin clinic may be a North American first, but similar programs have been offered in Europe.

In a similar project in Switzerland in the 1990s, fewer than 10 per cent of the addicts quit taking heroin – but the crime rate among addicts dropped and the job rate went up."

I feel other comments on this artical focus on only the negative. I personally think this could be money well spend. God knows we have waisted money on worse things. This program could save lives, takes the addict out of the control of the criminals. This has a potential to better the life of the addict. Helping to raise the addicts self esteem, and allowing the addict to maybe have some hope for a better life.
We could let the addict carry on the way it is now, and spend much more money to incarcerate them latter!
To me this is a step in the right direction!

    3. I’m sorry but I really disagree. This program does not save lives. At the Vancouver Occupy site a young girl overdosed on heroin. She was given a free needle to kill herself with courtesy of our tax dollars. It’s just another step towards the extremists’ agenda which totally supports the gang violence in the drug war.

The article says the participants will be weaned off the heroin but we know that doesn’t happen. Going off the drug is a personal choice and we see that people on the methadone program never have their doses reduced. Once they’re on it they’re on it for life and the doses keep increasing to keep them on the program. Buying heroin for addicts is something our medical system can’t afford.

Well, yeah, of course! Someone who gets the nod from pharmaceutical-grade anything, will NOT go back to anything diluted.... If anything; an extra year on the *down* will confirm that addiction mentally.

They will use the eventual meth; but will still hit the streets, and still buy *down" IMO...Why not just send them to meth straight off like everyone else?

    5. Why not just put them on methadone? That is the logical question.

  6. Funny how government spends money to fight the war on drugs when they're the ones that are also importing them in to the country.

  7. Well, during Prohibition many of the rich and powerful had involvement in various fashions, the Kennedy's money came from bootlegging and the POTUS had bootleg liquor delivered to the WHite House. Drugs are a lot less socially acceptable than alcohol, but it's not a shock to find that people in positions of influence may be involved, even if only peripherally, in the drug trade. Bankers in Florida in the early 1980's had no trouble accepting duffle bags stuffed with cash that they knew were proceeds of crime as long as they got their cut.

    1. Just like how the HSBC was recently caught laundering money for the Mexican cartel but no one cared.

    2. "No one cared" is a stretch. HSBC paid a $1.92 billion fine for laundering $881 million. I think the question, as Elizabeth Warrren put it, was "How much money do you have to launder before someone goes to jail?"

“If you’re caught with an ounce of cocaine, the chances are good you’re going to jail. If it happens repeatedly, you may go to jail for the rest of your life,” an exasperated Warren said, as she wrapped up her questioning. “But evidently, if you launder nearly a billion dollars for drug cartels and violate our international sanctions, your company pays a fine and you go home and sleep in your own bed at night — every single individual associated with this — and I just think that’s fundamentally wrong.”

    3. I hadn’t heard about the fine. All in all it was business as usual.

    4. Agreed, just money, the cost of doing business, and they know they can always make more of it. Doing time, hard time, and lots if it is appropriate and necessary for these types.

  8. AK: "...people on the methadone program never have their doses reduced. Once they’re on it they’re on it for life and the doses keep increasing to keep them on the program..."

Absolutely true, I asked my doctor to lower my small dose further...and he refused! The Valley Oak Clinic has NO policy for weaning folks off the meth., which is as bad as heroin. I ask them, "Why don't you and all the other Clinics force all new clients to sign a legal form that requires them to start reducing their dose...?"... as SOON as they are *stabilized* on it and used to it. All they do, is slyly smile, and say, "Well, that's not the right course of treatment here for everyone..."

The methadone game is a giant Government seizure of taxes; that maintain this ocean of methadone sinking this Province. The Doctors are some of the worst; frantically seeing eighty or one hundred clients per day! That's totally un-ethical! My Doctor writes scripts at TWO separate Clinics...how can he write that fast? The methadone drugstores that pay out to clients who drink daily...EVERY one's on the big-time methadone Take! Criminal Families have bought multi-million $ houses off this particular drug-business.

    1. Your doctor refused to reduce the dosage? You need to talk to Kim or the media about that. Without compromising your anonymity that is huge. It is a huge cash cow for the doctors and the pharmacists. That’s why when a medical “doctor” says feeding people rat poison is a medical service and therefore not disputable I content his medical advise is in a conflict of interest because he’s making money off of it.

  9. Yeah, the point is many of the DTES non-profits are very, very political and set up for political reasons. My family operates some; so I know what I'm talking about. @ TradeWorks Training Academy, I heard the Director state, that TradeWorks had "created a liberated Zone" in Vancouver. Every one of them was a committed Communist, who chose this way of fighting against our economic system!

DERA is the exact same. Lots of cash, zero accountability, operated only by Communists.

A lot of BC;ers, who hate capitalism, go down to the DTES to *win* agin their hated Capitalism. The Anti-Poverty activists in particular I do not trust. We know one of their top people lives at very nice Musqueam home, with mummy...
